I’m a believer
I’m a 66 year old man. I’m about to have knee replacement surgery. Also like many men I have to get up in the middle of the night to urinate.Yesterday I received my bottle of Wild Lettuce tincture. I took 16-20 drops before bed. I slept through the night. My knee pain is quite tolerable. Taking the tincture before bed will be a nightly routine.

Am I doing it wrong?
Got this hoping it would help relieve my fibro pain at least a little bit. Honestly I'm wondering if it's just snake oil. I put a dropper under my tongue and held it for several minutes... nothing. I did the same but 2 droppers full... still nothing. Is it something I'm doing wrong or is it just not working?

Great for menstrual cramps!
I bought this product after searching the internet for alternative pain relief for menstrual cramps. I had a procedure last year that left me suffering for days with very intense cramping, and was prescribed opiate pain medication from my doctor. As I'm finally healed enough to try for another IVF cycle for infertility, I'm trying to rid my body of all prescription medications (except of course the stim meds). My doctors had never heard of this product, but put me in touch with a birthing center that had a PA on staff, and she assured me this product was very safe for *ME* (please don't assume it's safe for you, I would definitely contact your own doctor to make sure it's okay for YOU!). The only thing she advised me is that it does contain alcohol, and to try the smallest dose and I should work up to a dose that alleviates the pain. I've found two dropper fulls (apps 32 drops) works better than the opiate medication! It does have a gnarly taste... I set it beneath my tongue for as long as I can tolerate it, then take a small sip of juice to wash it down.Amazing for menstrual cramps, but doesn't seem to work for other aches and pains.

A Satisfied 'Skeptic' !
I tend to be very skeptical in general, but with Vitamins and Herbs that have not been 'Tested/Approved' by the FDA, my skeptical nature was on high alert. However, this 'Wild Lettuce extract' was recommended to me by a very good friend that i trust... who, like me, has a chronic illness that among other things, causes her pain and often keeps her from sleeping well. Of course before I bought it, I read through many of the reviews which were in the majority good. As the reviews said, it does taste Really bad though you don't have to take a large amount of it so i guess i got used to it. It did not *Totally* take all of my pain away, but it did help much more than I thought it would. And yes, it did make me a bit 'woozy' so i made sure I only took it when I knew I had no other plans. And when I did lay down to sleep it did help me feel much more relaxed as well. I am definitely going to re-order because though I do have pain medication, it was quite reassuring to know that I had this 'natural herb instead in my med. cabinet, that I could take first, and if it didn't really take the edge off I could then take the pain med. Not expensive either, which is an obvious plus.

YES, YES, THIS EXTRACT REALLY WORKS FOR ULTRA SEVERE PAIN
Sublingual administration comes about when a chemical comes in contact with the mucous membrane beneath the tongue and it is absorbed. Because the connective tissue beneath the epithelium contains a profusion of capillaries, the substance then diffuses into them and enters the venous circulation in other words, the blood stream.Sublingual administration has certain advantages over oral administration. Being more direct, it is often faster and it ensures that the substance will risk degradation only by salivary enzymes before entering the bloodstream, whereas orally administered drugs must survive passage through the hostile environment of the gastrointestinal tract, which risks degrading them.Furthermore, after absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, such drugs must pass to the liver, where they may be extensively altered; this is known as the first pass effect of drug metabolism. Due to the digestive activity of the stomach and intestines, the oral route is unsuitable for certain substances.Almost any form of substance may be amenable to sublingual administration if it dissolves easily in saliva. The Wild Lettuce Extract when initially dropped beneath my tongue is wildly sizzling with a strong disagreeable taste. After about thirty seconds the area beneath my tongue starts to grow numb and the taste disappears. I hold this in place for between five and ten minutes and then swallow. Before swallowing my pain grows less by about fifty percent which makes it possible to put off taking pain medication for a couple of hours. After swallowing I get a bit more pain relief which further delays my taking any medication by mouth for an additional hour.Certain pain medications attache to particular brain receptors. I do not want to take the chance that Wild Lettuce also attaches to the very same receptors, so I make sure that I leave ample time between the administration of both substances, so the receptors are clear for either the medication or the Wild Lettuce. Therefore, I most often take the Wild Lettuce upon awakening.

takes time to work
I got this to my pain in hands due to overworking on the computer. Flavor is very nice actually, when diluted with water a little. It does help, but takes time and it is not an immediate relief. I've been taking this for a month now and do see some improvement, but it is not a magic potion. I keep working as well, so it probably would work better if you took some time to rest while taking it to allow your body to heal, but no such luck for me - work, work, work!
