Excellent flavor, not as hot as I expected
For about the past month, I've been working my way up the Scoville scale to eat a ghost chili, just as a personal challenge. Along the way I've ingested some jalapeΓ±os, a spoonful of Dave's Insanity, I've had some of Dave's Scorpion sauce, Satan's Blood, a couple habenero peppers, and then finally, the ghost pepper.Perhaps it is a result of my efforts to increase my tolerance, but the peppers in this package were not nearly as hot as I would have expected. I have eaten two pods, and I hardly felt the need for fire retardant such as milk or ice cream. In fact, I declined them, and remained pretty much unaffected. The thing that makes me think that it's not just my increased tolerance, but the peppers which have less heat (perhaps due to being smoked?) is the fact that the fresh habenero peppers I've eaten, which fall significantly lower on the Scoville scale, seemed to have a far more intense heat. I am a tad disappointed, because I did make this purchase with the intention of experiencing a heat intensity I never before experienced. In that endeavor, I will be seeking out some peppers that have not been smoked, or perhaps seeking out a grower. However, all that being said, these peppers still have a good amount of heat, and a great flavor. In that regards, they are not a disappointment, and are an excellent product. For those of you who are not used to super hot foods, use sparingly. For those that can handle, or even crave intense heat: apply liberally.

Decent smoky flavor with a bit of a kick!
First of all, I'm Asian and accustomed to spicy foods.I ordered the 2-pack because it's cheaper that way. The peppers have a pleasant smoky rubber-like aroma with a slight fruity taste. My wife loves spicy foods. She bit into one ghost pepper and said it was okay but not super-spicy. I tried the same one and didn't think it was very spicy, either. Then again, I wasn't stupid enough to pop the whole ghost pepper into my mouth; instead, I cut the first pepper into little pieces and sprinkled it into a meat sauce. The SECOND ghost pepper I tried, however, was a different matter. Just taking a very small nibble on the skin of the ghost pepper (not even a seed, mind you) was a mouth-numbing experience. No crying or whimpering like you see on youtube videos, but it was definitely hotter than the first pepper. I ate an Asian banana with that nibble. Quite yummy. So, I guess the "hotness" of the pepper varies between peppers. I have lots of peppers to go, and I'm sure I will enjoy them. Just eat them responsibly. Peppers are meant to add flavor to food, not to be eaten whole at one time.

Scorchingly Hot...but GOOOD!
For any of you who want to try one of the hottest peppers in the world, these will satisfy all your curiosity. My advice is to cut one up into small flakes about the size of crushed red pepper flakes & then put one flake in your mouth. A co-worker who eats jalapenos every day popped a flake in his mouth, jumped outta his chair screaming, and spit it out into the trash. I personally thought that was overly dramatic, as it shouldn't have been that bad, but that one flake is definitely hotter than a whole jalapeno. The smoke flavor is great. I put about 5 flakes into a bowl of chili and let them sit there & infuse into the sauce before I took my first bite. The heat wasn't overpowering at all, neither was it harsh like Tabasco is, but had a very satisfying warmth that spread quickly all through my mouth, and the smokiness was a fantastic addition to chili. Who woulda thought. So these aren't just for playing a practical joke on your friends. You can actually use them in cooking with good results. One thing I've noticed after I got these is jalapenos don't seem hot at all anymore.

Perfect Spice, Perfect Flavor.
This is the 2nd batch of ghost peppers I've ever eaten and these are GREAT. The spice is right at the perfect point (around 800,000-900,000 SHU) and the quality of the peppers are awesome. Most dried Bhut Jolokia products are either too crispy or raped of the seeds. These guys are still a little bit juicy and the texture/flavor are great. I received them in packaging exactly like what is advertised and came with 10-12 pods. I hope to upgrade to Trinidad Moruga Scorpions or Reapers soon :D. The first one of these peppers I ate had me hooked on super hots! Will order ghost peppers from here again if ever needed. A great choice to buy if you want to try ghost peppers but the shipping may be a bit expensive.

They are hot & they are expensive
A few months ago I served a rather booze-oriented friend some vodka in to which I had thrown some relatively mild Chinese dried peppers. He was very impressed, seemed to think this must have involved some lost form of pre-industrial alchemy, and drank most of the bottle. Well, now I have a bottle of vodka with these infamous dried (and smoked!) ghost chilies inside. The Chinese chilies were rated at about 20,000 scoville heat units & these chilies scored around 1,000,000 scoville heat units. The same friend is due to visit again in a few weeks. Canβt wait.

OMG...HOT!
As I write this I am still coughing and choking after I decided to use my spice grinder to grind the Ghost peppers into a fine powder for seasoning salsa.I accidentally inhaled some of the powder that came up form the grinder 3 + feet away and ...Jeeze I thought I was about to choke to death! I then wiped my face while crying with the back of my hand that never touched the Ghost peppers and now my face is burning as well! My wife wlaked througn the kitchen and inhaled it somehow as well...she is choking now!Be careful with these, I can't imagine actually getting more of this powder in anyplace you don't want it!Definition - Ghost Pepper: you can't see it but you sure can feel it!I put a little in my salsa and Wow, the heat is so very Hot ...I think I will be buying more! The bag is so small but the Heat is soo huge!

Need guts to handle the taste
I would recommend soaking them into olive oil and using the chilli oil in your food, as direct consumption will require a tongue of tar and liver of concrete to handle. But I love it!

Not hot at allππππ
Not hot, it was just slightly but hotter than regular green chillies. If you are a hot pepper lover , don't buy it.
