Natural snare head with that nice dry snappy sound drummers love
Probably one of Remo's most popular snare head's, at least to my drumming knowledge but it all really depends with whose behind the kit and what kind of style they play. Traditionally we'll say rock and with this Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Drum Head, it responds relatively great with that kind of music. I put it on my metal vintage snare drum when I got it, at the time I seeped it in before tuning it, but now that I think of it, I don't think it really needed to be seeped in, just let it break-in itself over time and it will. Unless you really want to, it doesn't matter, but to my experience I don't like to seep in my snare heads as much anymore as I do to my tom heads, don't tell me why but that's another story! With that being said, lets talk about the sound of this drum head. It can be tuned pretty tight and I think that's where it gets it's maximum sound performance. It can be tuned anyway really with out any problems and will still respond quite naturally to the drum. It doesn't have much overtones when being strike, hard or soft, that's the idea though is to get a nice dry snappy snare sound every drummer (at least most) really like and it delivers quite well. The best way I can compare this drum head to without taking anything away from Remo, would be the Aquarian Texture Coated drum head with a power dot underneath the head instead of being on top like Remo's. Both are very good snare heads and I like them both, but instead of them being rivals, I see them more as innovative brands with respect to each other. I don't think with the power dot on top of the head really messes with the drummers sound, it's just an idea and it doesn't change the sound in my experience, I've owned both so. The coating on the head won't chip off with the following months of aggressive drumming and plays a good drum roll to a nice snappy flam. If you hit it just right on the power dot, it will give a nice snap, sounds amazing, obviously very durable. All-in-all a very well made head for it's bucks! If I had to get a Remo out of all of their snare head products, I'd definitely would go with this one, with no hesitation! Simply because it's more natural without all the do-dahs a drum head can be and that can be played in any style of music. Rock, Jazz, Punk, Hardcore, R&B, Hip-Hop and I'll even throw in Metal. Dry, Snappy, Modern, Vintage, and Warm. All the little elements Remo thought of when making this head, without taking anything away from it's sound. Remo hit it straight on the head with this product. One of the top all-around snare heads on the market today. I recommend it entirely and it just looks good to.

Solid snare head, medium-dry
Basically like an ambassador with a dampener ring. Middle of the road tone, not too bright or dark. I find myself wanting to take out even more tone when using these, so have a moon gel or two on hand if that's your sound. Can't go wrong with Remo! Unfortunately they're just getting more expensive these days.

Perfect tone
I've played P3's on my snares for years now, but have never attempted using them on any other drum. This 16 was perfect for my floor tom, as it gets the deep, rich tone out of it that I feel no other head has come close to achieving. As an added bonus, with the P3's construction, there's no need for dampening overtones out like I have to do with pretty much every other head that I've used on this large of a drum. I'd be hard pressed not to use these on my kits from now on.

Great head but amazon now ships in the remo box!!
These heads are great,I've used p3 on the right drums and situations for years. However-ive returned the last two damaged from shipping because Amazon doesn't out them in SHIPPING cartons anymore- they also a label on the plain thin REMO box that you'd pick it up in the store in. No internal padding. They don't even tape the cartonso it doesn't open. So the head gets tossed around, heavy boxes stacked on top of it, crammed wherever- and the carton shows this abuse. First one I got it caused creases and dents in the head, second one the hoop was warped. They've done this with a record album to me as well. If you get lucky and have a multiple item order that they actually ship together it would probably be okay, but by itself...nope.

Buen producto
Es un buen head, el sonido depende del tipo de tarola q uses, en una metalica el sonido es brilloso y con bastante sustain, lo unico q la textura es liviana y se marca con facilidad

GOOD SNARE HEAD FOR MORE CONTROL AND NICE TONE
This has become one of my favorite snare heads. It has a bit more overtone control than a controlled dot head, in my opinion. It seems thin enough to produce good rebound, and good all around tone. I've used it with good results on my Ludwig Acrolite, as well as on a maple Pearl snare drum and a Ludwig birch shell snare. This head isn't as controlled as some of the "dry" style heads, but it still has a bit of pleasing tone - especially when tuned evenly.
