Difficult for me to understand and a horror!
This story was written in a way, from the 1600s that is difficult for me to understand and the whole thing is a horror. Makes me appreciate how thankful I am for how far we have come.

Considered by many as a classic antiwar play written just at the beginning of WWII.
We read this aloud at our book club meeting and discussed its relevance to today. It is set in the 30 years war in the 1600's. Since we are going on 18 years in Afghanistan it was appropriate. Mother Courage has a resilience and drive to survive however she can and reacts to the changes in the war. It is not an easy read and can be very bitter but very emotional as her children suffer.

A fantastic and unique playwright, one of my favorite plays and a great edition
This is a great example of Brecht's dialectical theater. It's jarring if you're used to Aristotelian theater or Shakespeare, but it is really fantastic with multiple layers. You should see it played. This edition also has great notes surrounding the play.

Book needed for college class, it was decent reading material. I would not have bought it if it was not required reading.

Much better than I expected!
I need this book for a class on Marxism so I ordered it over the break and started reading it. It's a fantastic play so far. I find it really funny, but I have an odd sense of humor to be honest. I tried looking to see if I could find a dvd of a production of it, and I came up short. The scenes are really short, but the story is really good. Mother Courage is a fantastic character. This is the first work by Brecht that I have read and I'm going to see if I can find his other work at my campus library if I ever get time to read something that isn't for class.

Helpful but book is not original
Paper quality is the worst but overall the item looks good but sometimes the item seems to me photocopy as paper quality shows infact it is not original I am sure
