Great deal for the price, fit nicely, a little tight through hips. Poor knee pad retention
For the price, they are a good deal. They fit slightly tight in the hips, and I am a slender guy 5'9" 160lbs. I had to exchange the 30 for 32 and now they fit just fine. Normally I am 30-31" waist. Quality is good, but not excellent, but at this price point it is a good deal. Hip pads are cheap foam, but knees are good CE cert. Pocket for knee pad has two height adjustments but is secured by very tiny strips of velcro, so not too sure how they will stay in position over time or in a crash, but so far in normal riding they have stay put. Fly zipper feels cheap and that is the only other specific area where the quality could be a bit better. I'd gladly pay a few more bucks for a sturdier zipper and more substantial velcro on the knee pads. Overall they are comfortable and look good. I'm wearing them at work right now.Update: the thin Velcro that holds the knee pads has come apart and allowed the pads to slide out and down to my ankle on several occasions with normal riding. I really don't think they would hold in place during a crash. Have downgraded my review based on the fact that the protection is the most important thing and should be reliable. Fit is good and comfortable.

Good, but knee pockets are low. Might need some custom tweaks..
The fit is actually pretty good, but for me the placement of the knee pads was very very low in the legs, making me wonder if these were shin pads? I mean, nobodies knees are that low :DYou can't pull them higher and have it be an old fashioned high waist thing as they are very much a below the waist kind of fit, which I prefer, but there's no room in the crotch to do this.. It also hoists the leg cuff too high, so again, I have to presume they're just stitched in too low.Only solution I can think of to do is, fabric glue or stitch across the knee pocket to force the pad to be a few inches higher. It might mean they poke out of the interior pocket, but it's a tight fit anyway and I don't think they'll move.Would prefer no stitching visible access the knee, so they actually just look like regular jeans.Fit's true to size, and the waist is slightly elasticated.Kevlar reinforced sections are minimal, but seem of good quality. Would like to see some in the shin area, but there is none.At this price they're a steal, but they need the pockets altering for me.I eventually used a liquid stitch latex fabric glue and measured where the pads would need to be, and marked that place.Believe it or not, to have the knee pads articulate correctly in place over my kneecap, I had to glue the bottom 4 inches of knee pad pocket off. Now they sit at the right level. They're a loose fit jean though, so really in a crash situation, I can't see this doing much of anything other that squidging to one side or the other, and so it won't offer much protection. You can purchase strap on knee protection that would fit much more correctly, and is removable and works on any pants, but still.. I wanted to see if I could get these working somewhat.

Ok for the price.
The waist was true to size however, there is absolutely no room in the crotch and the zipper is too small. The legs are too baggy and look more like a straight leg pair of jeans that the pictures show. Some altering needed to be done to make them look more modern style than some 90's style loose fitting jeans. The knee pads are low even when you're on your bike. The thighs are loose but it gives you some room to upgrade the thigh pads. Pretty decent at the price and if you can make the alterarions, they're worth it.The cool piece is the included padding. Good rubber knee pads and it comes with some reflective strips on the inside of the pant legs. If you flip your pant legs up while riding, it will be seen.

Fit is ok but not quite right
This review is after wearing these jeans on four separate and lengthy rides. While I selected "fit as expected" as the closest description, the pants aren't tailored quite right for folks of European descent. I'm 6'2", size 36w X 34L at 200 pounds. The misfit area is in the crotch-to-beltline area which is too short, making the fit and feel more akin to hip huggers. Length is ok. Fabric weight feels lighter than my Wrangler jeans. Another writer crabbed about the position of the knee guard material and I have to agree with that assessment - the knee protector is useless while riding because it ends up as a thigh protector when the knee is bent. I ride a 2001 Honda Valkyrie and the knee bend angle is greater than that of a typical cruiser having feet forward ergonomics. Overall, the pants are ok but I'll try another brand next time with the hopes of getting a better fit.

Best motorcycle pants I could have bought.
These pants saved my legs in an accident I got side swiped by a truck going about 38mph and slid with my bike about 50-60 feet my legs had absolutely no road rash on them and my knees were not crushed thanks to the knee pads. My hips also weren't bruised thanks to the padding on the hips and butt area.

Good buy with odd stitching
This is my second pair of HB jeans. I like the fit and I feel safer in them. However this pair is different than the others I bout a few months ago. These have stitching above and below across the knee that hold the pads in place but does nothing for style. My other pair looks just like a normal pair of jeans with a much darker dye. I can wear thise to work. This pair will have to be weekends only. I dont know how to figure out which I am buying in the future or evdn if they still make the older style as there seems to be no way to contact HB. The quality on both is very good.

Good value, slightly small & knee pads low
I will reiterate what many others have said in their reviews here. The knee pads are a little low. They should be at least a full inch higher for me. However, when in the sitting position with the knees bent, they do come up just enough to barely cover the knee cap. The concern here is if I am in a crash where my leg straightens out, my knee may not be protected.I ordered my normal size of a 30" waist. They do feel a tiny bit tight, but it's not so tight to where I will send them back for an exchange. Ordering one size bigger would feel more comfortable. If it weren't for the knee pad placement issue, I would have given this 5 stars and ordered two more pair, considering the value for the price ($59 when I ordered). However, I'll try these out for a couple weeks.
