I use these rocket motors for middle school science teaching. The kids like some sound and fury when they calculate acceleration and velocity. We measure force and time using a motor pushing down on a kitchen scale. Then use a motor sliding on a 100 yard cable to see and measure velocity & acceleration. This year I tried making a volcano with a bag of sand and a buried motor, it made an excellent Mount Vesuvius.
