Protects your glass
I purchased this 2 years ago, and just bought a new one today. It works amazingly well to protect your glass from dogs. In those 2 years I've fostered many, many dogs and there isn't a single mark on my French doors. The product itself is scratched up like crazy and it was impossible to tell if the glass was or wasn't scratched without removing it so I was pleasantly surprised to find clear, unmarked glass behind it.I didn't have any issues with the included adhesive rounds. I put mine directly on the glass and it held until I forcibly removed it. I live in southern US, and my door is under a covered porch roof, so not sure if cold weather or direct sunlight has any effect on the adhesion. One thing I'm going to do differently when I install the new one, though, is use a flat double sided tape all along the top edge. While the included circle tape worked fine, the open gap at the top allows dirt and dust to accumulate between the guard and the glass, and you can't get to it to clean it. It drives me nuts and makes your door look filthy. Between the scratches and the dirt, it's a real eyesore. But I'd still rather have the scratch marks on this than my glass and hopefully sealing off the top edge will help keep it looking cleaner.

Does the job
I installed this on an exterior metal door in a northern climate. I bought an additional roll of double sided tape to give me the best possible outcome. I haven't attempted to remove it so I don't know if the tape will take the paint off the door which was the whole reason for the plastic shield. My dog pawing at the door was scratching the paint off the door.

Protect your door
This scratch protector is probably the best one I've tried so far. You just need to trim it at the bottom.I used it for the outside of my door and it lasted for 2 winters which I was very happy about. This is my second one.

I didn't expect that
I bought this door protector so my dog wouldn't scratch the door. I adhered it using the small sticky rounds it came with. The stickers were fine, came off not problem. I was only in my apartment for 7 months, and the vinyl part of this product somehow stuck itself to the paint and adhered to it. When I pulled it off, extremely slowly, the paint was attached to the vinyl and came off with it. Very disappointed in this product for painted doors. And it looks ugly once it's stuck on. I bought another product with actually sticks to the whole door and had no problem. It's possible my landlord did not use a primer for the painting, but still. I didn't expect this huge problem on move out day. I will not be buying this product again.

Some Good, Some Bad
I like this product because it seems to do the job for which I bought it. My dog jumps on the glass door and creates scratches on the glass and this product will prevent that from happening. However, it was very difficult to install. I laid it out flat for at least 5 days before using it. But it still curled slightly when I was applying it to the door. The worst thing was the adhesion circles. They were very difficult to remove from the backing and extremely thin, which made them fold in on themselves and stick to everything but the plastic. A few of them were ruined and unusable. Still, I hope the product stays on the door and lasts quite awhile. So I need to update this review! Last night we had some wind with the snowstorm and the plastic flew right off the door!!! I am not happy about this, since I now have no protector on my door and no more adhesive circles with which to re-install it. So basically I have to either duct tape it on or buy more adhesive. Waste of money as far as I am concerned.

Super easy to put up
Bad reviews are usually due to operator error.I didn't have to lay it flat for days, it's thick plastic. Come on lol. It unrolled easily and flattened out just fine when I put it up.It wasn't as difficult to take the backing off the adhesive as everyone else is saying. You just have to take your time and not be ridiculous about it.When I put it on I didn't press the adhesive down hard and was able to reposition it without any damage. I do expect to have to repaint when I take it off, but that's not a big deal to me. Once you press it down hard, it's really on there and yeah paint is coming off with it.It seems like it will hold up well, we'll find out once my dog starts jumping on the door.I'll come back to update if it's pulled off easily, but overall I'm happy with this purchase and it seems like it will do what it's supposed to do.

Did not Work for a 12 year female German Shorthair Pointer
I thought it would work, but my 12 year old female hunting dog pulled it down and tore it into 3 pieces the 1st full day after we attached it to the door. The sticky circles came off attached to the vinyl, and took the paint in circles with it. I had unpainted circles left on the door, so I had to have the door repainted. For me, it was a waste of money.

Another Use! In My Bathroom to Protect the Closet Door from Damp Towels
I tried to find something that would protect my inside closet door in the bathroom where I'm going to hang our towels after a shower and I found this product that now covers the door under the towel so the door doesn't get damp and ruined.

Buy these!
We purchased new expensive doors and gave 2 hounds that enjoy scratching at our doors. We bought these 6 months ago and they still look brand new and the door has no damage. When we had an inspection from our installer. He asked where we bought these from because he enjoyed them too

Doesn't stick well.
Install takes a while because you have to flatten it for a day or two. The sticky pads it comes with are garbage, didn't even stick for a couple days. Took the time to repaint my door and it's all scratched up again. Would recommend you get a sturdy double sided mounting tape. Not worth the money.

Good product that does protect the door from our dog.
Good product that does protect the door from our dog snatching the door. The installation was frustrating. The 3M stickers just peel and apply to the sheet, however removing the backside of the 3M stickers was very difficult. The peel off tabs kept tearing off and I had to use my finger nails to remove and many of them can off in pieces. With a box cutter I was was to trim the sheet to fit the door. Initially I could see the 3M stickers on the sheet once installed. Happy with the result after a day of drying the 3M stickers became clear, door looks great.
