Matte Black Dot Grid Notebook, 8.5x11, 100 Pages Paperback – June 13, 2014

I have only been using this for a few days, but I've really liked it so far. The paper is nice quality - heavy, slightly off white and smooth to write on -and the dot grid makes it really easy to keep notes neat and straight. There are three index pages and two "tags" pages for people who want to keep track of what's in their journal. So far, I haven't seen any bleeding through, though I haven't tested it against the most extensive pen collection. I docked stars mostly because I would prefer the gridding to be even smaller (though I realize that is just my preference, it would be nice to have more 'size' options for the different line/grid/dot notebooks), and the front cover of the notebook actually came quite smudged; that might not seem like a big deal to people, but it's one of those things that bothers me each time I pick up the notebook and have to look at the beautiful, matte cover smudged with...I'm not even sure what. That being said, I don't think the cover itself smudges easily. I've been handling it a decent amount in the past few days, and I have yet to leave any marks of my own.Also, this is me being extremely nitpicky (sorry), but the grid printing isn't perfectly straight. It's hardly noticeable, but either the grid slants slightly to the right or the paper isn't cut straight down/perpendicular to the horizontal edge. I could tell by looking at the distance between the line of dots closest to the edge of the paper - they weren't uniform. Again, probably not something people would notice if they weren't super annoyingly picky like I am, but it might bother some people.

These are great note pads for sketching and drawing. The index is very convenient to have at the beginning and helps find sketches and notes quickly.

I have a toddler and 3 dogs. The matte finish on this shows absolutely everything.The paper is of good quality.

The paper feels very coarse and low quality. The grid is misaligned and poorly cut. I wouldn't trust products that don't have real pictures for reference in the future.
