used this to replace the 25 yr old burnt out motor in my Tri star vacuum. Not only is it quieter, but seems to have much stronger suction. The disposable bag gets filled in 4-5 uses, where as with he old motor it'd be double that at least... the cost is less than half of going to the Tri Star web site, their mtr on sale was $199.00, reg price was $239 if I recall... of course the Tri star rep warned me about under performance, not as much suction, ect... can only get tri star from tri star...and so on...so far this thing is way out performing the old....think it might just be able to suck start my harley!!!!!

The best thing about Tri Star / IEC vacuums is that you can find any replacement part. I've had the same vacuum for nearly 40 years. Sure, I've replaced almost every part at least once, but the point is that I CAN. This is the second replacement motor with the latest one lasting about 25 years. Unfortunately, the replacement parts are no longer US-made, but I'll take what I can get. I see dumpsters filled with newer cheap China-made plastic vacuums. No thanks. I'l keep fixing my Tri Star until replacement parts are gone.

This is the exact motor replacement for the older Tristar and Compact vacuum cleaners made from 1946 to 1998. My old Compact C80-2 is running like new. You will not be disappointed.
