Worked with factory mercury sender
My carbureted 2001 mercury 200 hp outboard had a sender unit in the left (port) head already and wire under dash ( tan wire).This gauge works as it should with this sending unit.

Great value and quality
Can’t beat it for the price! High quality product I would give it 5 stars but it’s just a hair smaller than other high quality instruments. Make sure you measure your gauge hole before buying. Was lucky but if it was a 16th smaller I would not of been able to use it. So measure twice to be sure it will fit

disliked it not being adaptable to a thicker base, any help with this?? thickness of mounting area 1/2 to 3/4 thick

Benzel OD to small
Benzel diameter (2 3/16") was to small to fit existing hole and fell through, even thought description stated 2" opening.OD of Benzel needs to be at least 2 3/8" to fit existing hole as in most boat consoles.
