I use these for melting small amounts of butter - I have a complete set of Portmerion china, and I just added these to my collection. I had clear glass ones before, but one broke, and in searching for a replacement I found these and I was thrilled! They are perfect for small jobs!

VERY HANDY LITTLE CUPS USE THEM MORE THAN I THOUGHT. SOMETIMES I PUT IN DORITOS IN THE BIG ONE,THATS ONE NOT SO GREEDY PORTION, DEFROSTING MY RASPBERRIES ALL SORTS OF USES, THE LITTLE ONE IS IN A CUTE JAR FROM NEXT THAT CONTAINS BATH SALTS AND USE IT AS A MEASURE. REALLY USEFUL, SURPRISINGLY.
