Taste wise is it close to French's?

If you’re talking about French’s yellow prepared mustard, the answer is no, not even close. Coleman’s, when hydrated, is more like what you get in a Chinese restaurant - very hot and spicy. But is is absolutely fantastic mustard.

Whats the difference between mustard powder and dry mustard powder?

This has the same meaning whether you use the term 'dry' or not. Mustard powder is dry and mixed with water when needed for each use, so it is always fresh. The English mustard powder from Coleman's is a staple mustard and is much hotter and not sweet like some French's mustard varieties.

No. It has no expiration date not elaboration date either. I check it even with a magnifier. It has an U.K. Customer service number to call 0800281026. Still the best mustard ever !!
