SpeakerCraft AIM LCR 1 In-Wall Speaker - Each (White)

I have this as my center hooked up to a Marantz sr5010 with the Aim cinema ones as my L and R channels. It sounds great and matches the L and R perfectly. The wife doesn't want big and bulky looking speakers in the living room, so by default we looked for in walls and Speakercraft was one of the brands we looked at when deciding which brand to go with. They are a little expensive, but so are all the other good in wall speaker brands like Def Tech for example. One of my friends just built a house in our neighborhood and has all Polk installed through out his whole home audio. Once he heard the quality of my system, He is now wanting to rip out his and replace them all with Speakercraft.

I just installed these yesterday and am very happy with their output quality. I bought two of these as a my left and right front speakers to complement a LCR3 (LCR5 3) center channel that I received as a free upgrade from Thrilling Audio after they realized they were out of LCR1 stock after i ordered it. I deducted one star due to the fact that these LCR1 speakers (really LCR5 1), that I am reviewing here, are a different color than the LCR3 speaker I installed a couple of weeks ago! These LCR1 speakers are eggshell white, and the LCR3 appears as a dirty white/off white/creamy white, who knows. I think speakercraft should remedy this issue as when I was doing research I did come across others saying they had color issues too. I bought these LCR1 speakers to replace an inferior speakercraft MT7 that was already installed in my house when I bought it and is about 5 years old by now I guess. Funny enough, the color of the MT7 and the LCR3 matched perfectly....Also, be aware that the lifetime warranty from speakercraft only applies if you buy from one of their approved distributors, which can be found on their website. I suspect these are cheaper in part because this seller is not on that list (which is very small indeed), so let's hope I have no problems.

If you have ever installed a remodel box for and electrical switch, outlet, light fixture, etc..., this I'd designed the same way. My wires were already in the wall so each speaker probably took 10 minutes to install. Note: double check the level of your pattern before you cut you whole. I don't personally care, but I will admit these were larger than I expected. If size is a huge concern double check that under specification. I'll add more feedback once I finish all connections.Also these things were very well crafted, nothing about them seemed cheap in my opinion. Many of the reviews I read claimed they received different variations of white speakers, which almost led me not to purchase these (I bought 3, and have 4 more of a different model for ceiling). All 3 were exactly the same color.

I purchased a pair of LCR ONE in wall speakers to use for front left and right in HT setup. These speakers produce beautiful, solid sound with very clear high and sufficient base to please the saviest of home audio freaks, like me. I have compared it to the other speakers I own, all high quality and way more expensive, and this little guy matched up well, powered by a Piuoneer SC 35 (140 wpc). IMO the more power you provide to it the better it sounded.The base can be enhanced with the addition of a subwoofer, but even in a 2.0 stereo setup, they sound great and fill my large room with clear beautiful sound.I did some research and reviewed this itme before buying it, you can find full specs on Speakercraft web page. But hearing is beleiving.I was considering the AIM cinema five, but adding a sub to this LCR One produces the same effect with substantial savings.I highly recommend this speaker, it is a real good buy,.. no buyer's remorses here.
