These boots are my second pair. I absolutely love these boots. They fit great they are waterproof and are rugged. I volunteer for EMS and they have been wonderful on scene.

I had a pair of AKU boots - tetons - and they were the best boots I have ever had. I have really bad feet so finding a comfortable pair of shoes is a never ending quest. The leather on these is so stiff I just can't get them to break in. I do a lot of kneeling down and squatting and these wear my feet out where the leather needs to bend. They also don't seem to have as much cushion as the tetons in the heel. The plus side is that I don't think the leather would wear out, it is thick.

I had been looking at some of the top European boot makers with a Gortex liner. After some reading and remembering my old ?Rachalie? boots I decided to go with non-Gortex boot for a more breathable boot.These fit nicely and to size, especially compared to Brand Z and Brand S in this price range that I will be returning. A bit stiff when new but I'm sure these are going to break in well and be ready to take a beating. .Going to keep a pair of AKU Alterra GTX boots also, for waterproof needs. Love their style and just putting them on they felt excellent. Will be breaking them in soon (if they even need it!).Love my AKUs!
