Very easy to use and works great when on the go since its battery operated

I received this item as a gift. You can move the button to the "On" position but it does not heat up. It only heats up when you press down on the red button which will not stay down by itself, which means you have to hold it in your hand pressing down on a button to get it to do anything. This can be very inconvenient and awkward if you are trying to place a crystal on some items. Then when I tried to attach a 3mm hotfix crystal to 100 percent cotton decorator fabric (I was using a hard flat surface) it singed the fabric within one second of placing the tool on the crystal. It was not on the crystal long enough to attach the crystal, but since the end of the tool is slightly larger than 3mm it burnt the fabric instead of attaching the crystal.
