100 Blues Lessons - Bass Lesson Goldmine Series Bk/Online Audio

Didn't know what to expect but yeah, awesome book. Good explanations. They include tabs on the sheet music and if you eventually forget the numbers are there you could learn to read music this way.Also they have exercises that ask you to write your own bass lines, after giving you examples of the technique being used. Great book

I purchase for need to know material for my son who just start playing 1 year ago. He has learned to read music on his own. So tabs as he say don't matter it makes you lazy. That a book is only good if you use it the right way....So buy this book! Lot of good material............

I'm only about a third of the way through this book but of the six or seven bass learning books I have tried this is by far the best. It has a wealth of information, the learning is in manageable increments, and the content is generally fun to play. Try this one first.

The content of the book is excellent. The etudes progress from quite easy to more challenging without being a tedious progression. It would be even better with a different binding so it would lay open on a music stand. I may just cut the binding and let the pages fall where they may.

Taking the lessons from the book is the pleasure of playing. Very good examples of not so popular pieces from known musicians.

A great learning resource and easy and fun to follow. Go slow and digest and then go back and study again. But like all study books, you get out of it what you put in. This one is excellent if you do your part. Recommend.

quality of lessons - good; quality as a 'product' - FAIL. Ad clearly states "book includes two Audio CDs." Instead, I received the book with a link to a website where I could listen to the files. That is not what was advertised, nor what I had paid for.

It looks like a great book for BASS guitar. Not much use to me since I play a 6 string. I returned the book.

Having purchased several books from HL over the years, this new series uses a different method. Rather than each chapter building from the previous one. These are 100 self contained lessons, allowing the player to jump around and practice individual techniques. Without the need for a linear approach. MP3s of the lessons are accessed through the website. Overall an interesting approach to learning blues bass. I wouldn't hesitate to order any of the other styles.
