With tomato grow bag there's no need for digging, no lifting heavy bags of potting soil, no kit to assemble, no reaching up to water the plant. You don't even need tools! just choose plants or seeds -- you'll need a little plant food if you don't have any at home -- then you're ready. Everything you need to get started is in the pack. Just water the holes, plant your plants or seeds, then water and feed regularly. Place tomato grow bag anywhere where there's sunlight for a few hours -- a deck, patio, balcony, roof garden or even indoors. Tomato grow bag uses coco coir as the growing medium. Coco coir comes from recycled coconut husks. It'S a clean, natural form of potting mix with excellent water holding capacity, ideally suited to growing tomatoes, summer veggies and herbs. Coir is a sustainable and renewable resource.DIRECTIONS: Place grow bag with the two large holes facing up. Slowly pour 7 quarts (7 liters) of water over a period of 10 minutes through the two large holes in the grow bag and watch the coco coir expand 4 times to almost the full size of the bag. If necessary, add more water until the block is fully expanded. Seeds: insert 3 or 4 seeds in each of the two pre-cut holes, at a depth of about half an inch. Wait two weeks and see how many seedlings come up, then remove all but the best seedling, leaving just one plant per hole. Seedlings: create a well in the coco coir mix (take some out if necessary). Gently insert seedling in the hole, covering exposed roots with coir. Repeat for second hole. Water immediately. Insert a 3 foot stake in each hole along the seeds or seedling. A tomato cage will also work. Move to an area of good light where your plants can flourish. Tomatoes need about 6 hours of sunlight per day. Water when the surface of the coco coir feels dry, reduce watering when plant starts fruiting. Tomatoes like to be fed regularly. We recommend feeding twice a week with a good quality, organic liquid fertilizer.
