Small, works great.
Updated after 3 years of use, still working great.I received this and installed, I suppose it could be installed in less then an hour, to a functional state and a mess, I spent about 2 hours, but I made it look very clean and hidden. Also note that it is much smaller then it seams in the picture. It works perfectly, it turns the headlights on when it starts to get dark immediately (unlike the factory kit in the 2002 Tahoe I use to have which took 20 seconds to turn on, unless it was dark when you started the car). I installed this in a 2005 Explorer XLS, I was able to locate a factory auto light switch and used that to control the power to the 545T so it looks factory. I was also able to hook up the wiper switch to function on each setting, if that feature is important to you, you might have to buy diodes to make this work. And to help those with the install, hook this kit up at the light switch, this will allow you to maintain the high beam function. As for the pathway lighting, I think this does not do pathway lighting, it would either have to be done by the car itself, or with your security system.

Successfully adds auto headlights to cars that don't have them.
I added this to a 2013 Toyota Corolla S because that car does not come equipped with automatic headlights. When wired correctly, this system adds that. It also makes the headlights come on if you use the windshield wipers. I really like this system, and it solved one of the more annoying things about my car without costing that much. It is a nice system, but the switch that comes with it is hideous. I ended up removing that switch and adding my own that kills the ground and shuts the entire system off. It can be done if you know what you're doing or have someone who does. Also keep in mind that this system turns your headlights on when using the wipers, at night, and when traveling through dark areas including tunnels. There is also a clear photo sensor that will be on your dash close to the windshield. I tried putting mine in a more factory installed location, but this has to be as close to the window as possible to work correctly. You may also be able to replace the photo sensor with a better one that matches your dash or car, but I decided to just leave the photo sensor alone.

Logic board is faulty; doesn't turn on dash lights
Struggled to get this to work. After individually testing the sensor, the relays, connectors, connections to the vehicle and the signals to the relays, it turns out that the logic box is faulty. The effect: the lights ALWAYS come on when the car turns on; never turns off when the sensor is bathed in light; and turn off immediately when you turn off the car, no time delay. Unfortunately I'm outside the 30day return window so I guess I blew $50.One other thing to note is if you connect this directly to your headlight and running lights relays (as described and recommended in the microscopic instructions... bring your magnifying glass) it will not turn on your dashboard lights nor any other interior lights that might come on when you turn on your headlights.

Works as Advertised
The item works as advertised and is relatively easy to install. I have installed this in my 2007 Mustang and it works without a flaw. You will have to install an override switch, which is included. The system comes set up for daylight driving engaged and the only way to disengage this feature is to open the control device and cut a wire. This process should be made so you don't have to open the control device, and the instructions need to be clearer about this feature as it is written in 2 font at the bottom. The overall instruction are not that great, so read carefully and completely.

Good Product!
I bought this item and installed it in my 1998 Chevy Cavalier Works Wonderfully! Like everyones saying your high beams dont work, well that bull! They still work but you have to turn on the head lights for the highs to stay on! Theres a way to test if it will let you keep your highs beams on! Just go to your car and leaving the lighs off, turn on the high beams, my car has something called Flash-to-pass where if the head lights are off you can flash the highs for someone to pass, or like walk in front of you. So when the lights are off and you click the high beams back do the highs come on then go back off? When you release the switch if they dont stay on then you cant have the light switch in the off position and then turn on the highs and levae them on. Im only 17 and dont have that much experience, ive intalled a viper 7902 (which is like the bomb!) and this (The 545t) and a 530t unit this only took about 26 mins to install granted I allready had every thig apart in my car. GREAT PRODUCT!
