Molly and the Magic Suitcase: Molly Goes to Barcelona

This book is okay. It's definitely written for very small children. I like the introduction of a lot of places in Barcelona, but the writing is sub-par. It lacks transition words as well as phrases like, "he said", etc, and it's just not a polished product. However, it will meet the needs of introducing Barcelona and Gaudi to my students, which was my goal. I'm not sure I'll buy other books in this series or not. If they were better written, I'd buy the others in a heartbeat.

Adorable story! Gives a great overview of some the amazing sights that we saw when we visited Barcelona! A great and simple story to help keep the trip of our memory alive.

Cute book!!

The idea behind this book is great. Teach kids about Barcelona using a brother and sister duo in easy to understand language. The book includes a number of interesting facts and landmarks about the city which even my 2.5 year old could grasp and retain. The illustrations are fine, not the best artwork I have seen but the pictures relate to the story and even the youngest of readers can follow along. In the story, the kids use this magic suitcase to travel but that's not totally clear and the authors don't set it up as well as I would have liked. All in all it was a good book to read as we prepared for our family trip to Barcelona.

The dialog is very stilted, makes it a little hard to read, but it's a good summary for young kids on the highlights of a visit to barcelona. Useful I think.
