Penofin for interiors, no fumes.
Easy to put on, single coat, a great bonus, no fumes. The cedar colour gave me a little more yellow in the wood, which I like over the clear. Penofin products have given me excellent performance over the last 20 years and are easy to reapply; although I used this on a cedar ceiling in an interior- I would not need to do anything to this project.

No harsh fumes
I love the Penofin products for staining and protecting outdoor furniture. The Penofin Verde is the icing on the cake as now there is no harsh fumes.

This Stuff is AMAZING
I tried a bunch of different brands of stains, this one was the last of the selection I had bought. This one blew me away in the first 2 minutes. This stain is so good, one coat, that is it, it goes on smoothly and evenly from the jump. It does not smell to high heaven and it drys to the touch in a couple of hours. This brand of stain gets 6 stars. it is that good. Choose this brand if you want to get your staining work done quickly, with no fuss and no stink. I think will be as delighted as I was within the first 2 minutes.

No VOC, easy to use, non-toxic, non-yellowing, matte finish. The best!
Non-toxic, smells heavenly of rosewood but not overpowering. Natural version brings out all the gorgeous contrasts and natural tones in any wood without significant overall darkening or yellowing. Does dramatically increase contrast between the different rings/sapwood/heartwood/etc, which I usually find desirable. Super easy to apply.... wipe on heavy, wait 20 minutes, wipe off, let dry (sometimes takes longer than the recommended 12 hours!) Only ever needed to apply one coat! Dries to matte finish with tiny bit of sheen, not shiny like a poly. Not for heavy use constantly touched items; more for decorative elements like frames, brackets/corbels, lamps, etc. Will have to reapply periodically for any use, especially outdoor, but it's easy and non-toxic, fine by me. My favorite wood finish product of all time!

Does Not Work
We applied this to our deck, at our cabin, and after a few days of hot sun, and a rain, it simply did not work. We are so very disappointed. We will be purchasing something else! sad!

Applies easily. Saturates wood well. Smells like linseed oil, so be careful with disposal.
BAD AMAZON PACKAGING AND PRODUCT DAMAGE REVIEWThe item I received was sold by Amazon, not a 3rd party seller. The gallon can arrived with a HUGE dent in the side because the can was improperly packed in a poorly padded oversized box. I'm just glad the lid did not pop off during transit and that the lid was able to go back onto the can and reseal after use.___________________________________PRODUCT REVIEWPerformance Coatings Penofin Verde Sustainable Wood Finish applied easily with single-use foam brushes. It penetrated western red cedar wood quite well. The Performance Coatings company does not disclose its secret ingredients on the can. Judging from the odor, color and consistency, this product seems to have a quite large amount of linseed oil in it. (I have used gallons of boiled linseed oil over the years to treat dried wood.)A barely noticeable notice on the can cautions the user to dispose of waste by soaking in water. Linseed oil can easily spontaneously combust if placed in trash without soaking it with water and sealing it in a airless environment such as a lidded jar, lidded can, or a tightly closed plastic bag.To me, boiled linseed oil is just as effective as Penofin Verde Sustainable Wood Finish. But boiled linseed oil costs about half the price of the Penofin Verde product. So even though the Penofin Verde product worked well, I gave it a 4 rating because it just seems like very overpriced boiled linseed oil.

Stained my steps and lawn great!
I have used penofin verde for a few years on all unpainted exposed wooden things and it really does hold up and not offgass. Have used it on benches, kids playset, tow trailer, and plant trellises with success. Needs a coating once a year and the non-pressure treated wood seems to keep indefinitely. The gallons have been coming loose in a box lately, which tends to pop the top off the can. USPS has been great about it though, putting the leaking heap in a garbage bag that is left on the front porch to drain onto my front steps and lawn.

It worked much better on rough sawn cedar than smooth finish
We have used this on our home and fence. It worked much better on rough sawn cedar than smooth finish. It has lasted about 7 years on our fence and is close to needing recoated. The house won't need it for another 7-10 years. For an outdoor finish that isn't toxic to use or dispose of, this one is my favorite. Why risk your health using nasty chemicals?
