In a nutshell, this is the best belt I’ve ever purchased.

After reading a ton of the reviews of the SlideBelts, both good and bad, I decided to give it a try anyway. I have had mine for about 2 months now, and can say I am thoroughly pleased with it. The adjustability is great, with a solid "click" feedback that hasn't even remotely seemed weak. I like the design of the buckle, without an external lever or button that can get accidentally pressed or hang on clothing and released. I went with the cheapest version, the Canvas Belt material, so I wouldn't be out much if it failed, but this material has been great and is holding up extremely well with the pseudo-leather backing. Unlike other reviewers, I do not swap the buckle between belts, so I cannot say what would happen if I did. I tend to run my belt tighter, and cannot see ANY pulling or stretching at the end retainer in the buckle. The pinch teeth holes are exactly the size they were the day I put it together. Over two months, I have worn it all but a handful of days, usually daily for work, on anything from jeans to dress slacks to casual pants. I cut it long to start with, as I intended to use it for both regular wear and concealed carry (IWB Holster), and it has not stretched more than a 1/4 inch as far as I can tell. After awhile, I may cut it down a bit. The finish on the buckle looks the same as the day I opened the box. Overall, I would say this belt is a winner! It has replaced my former belt after wearing that full grain unit for nearly 20 years (still in service, just relegated to wearing it for working in the yard and farm). The price seems steep, but really, to have the adjustability and the fit/finish, you're going to spend on the high side anyway.

SlideBelts are designed to trim to fit, so if the fit is NOT as expected, you likely have only yourself to blame! Otherwise, the product is a bit on the pricey side but an excellent design. The belt arrives in a very nice fitted box with the belt and buckle separate. The belt is max length when you receive it and you trim it to the size you desire with scissors or shears. The back of the belt has a track for the buckle ratchet at one end and guidelines at 1 inch intervals for trimming the length on the other end. The only challenge is making as square a cut as possible. If you have access to a guillotine-style paper cutter, you can use it to make a very clean and square cut. It is important to get the cut square as only a small portion of the belt fits into a clamp on the buckle, so a ragged or off-square trim could result in the clamp teeth tearing the belt or having it loosen. Once you have the belt and buckle custom sized and assembled, you simply slide the belt into the buckle and pull the end to tighten it as desired. A lift of the buckle releases it. It works very well, allows incremental sizing adjustments, and holds securely. Since the belt and buckle are separate, you can exchange belts and buckles or buy additional belts to use with the same buckle. I like the variety of patterns and colors for both the belts and buckles. They are fairly frequently available as Gold Box deals, a good time to save a bit on purchasing one. However, they DO tend to sell out quickly.

This was my second SlideBelt order. I love not having to decide between the too loose hole or too tight hole on a standard belt. The real reason for this review is an fyi... in order to cut to the proper size, the waist size numbers are etched (?) on the inside of the belt. On the belt I just received, the numbers were printed in reverse. If you cut at 30, not enough material would be removed. If you cut at 46, too much material would be removed. I used my first SlideBelt as a template to cut to the same length. Measure twice, cut once.

These belts are quite awesome. I just like the fact that it has a ratcheting mechanism that rivals the other belts that has the same concept. You can adjust it constantly if you like or leave it alone all day. It has great quality in terms of the leather on the reverse side. Although, I'm not sure how the fabric side will remain at the point where you cut off the length to customize your fit. It seems like over time, this will unravel after a while by how I use them. I like to put them back in the boxes once I'm done using them. Also, it doesn't have that "in between holes" that either is a tight fit or loose fit like other belts. You can find your size perfectly with these belts. I would've given this five stars only because the width is too narrow to wear with jeans. Otherwise, it's perfect enough that I bought 7 more to mix and match with what I wear every day. It truly is a customizable belt. SlideBelts, you have a brand new customer for life! Please improve or maybe add an option for wide belts for denim use. This is solely my opinion based on experience. I wasn't provided with any of the products for free and purchased each belt myself.
