Spoiler alert!!
I gave it five stars because the writing was really good and I enjoyed the dry humor a lot. On the flip side there was so much tragedy it was hard to read. I almost gave up and quit reading because it made me feel so bad. But it picked up at the very end luckilt for me. TIhere were interesting elements and zombie fans will likely enjoy it.

Bob's thoughts
I love reading science fiction. I also enjoy reading survival stuff. These type of scenarios are thought provoking. This particular set was interesting to me because of the source of the infection and how it spread. Great concept. Zed is a moron but he has a good heart that always pushes him to do what is good and right. Murphy is his balance. The only thing that bothers me, as with most apocalyptic story line is why does it always have to be ZOMBIES!!!??? Why do you never run out of them. Eventually they should be dead by starvation or the heroes should be killing enough of them. Still, a good read but ......

This series is worth the effort to read.
When I realised this was a (sort of) zombie series, I thought about stopping. But, I’m on the beach in Australia, its the summer holidays - what the hell, I’ll give it more time. I’m glad I did. The series got better and better, the characters were diverse, the plot got more complex and the book raised (for me) a number of ethical/morale issues that do need to be considered. I really enjoyed the series, the central characters are well developed (not everybody is naturally a great shot) and the plot gets better and better. I would recommend this series.

Great story great writing
I can’t say enough about this series. Loved the characters. Loved the story. Loved the unique take on a zombie apocalypse and the different strains and outcomes as a result. I didn’t want it to end. Absolutely loved it!

Edge of the seat reading...
I never thought I'd do this but I'm givin' this book set a 5 because it is so good. I know some people expressed offense by the F word (as I normally would) but, honestly, I didn't see an over-abundance of profanity. Like, it wasn't just randomly laced through conversations. It was in moments of catastrophe and fright. It just so happens, there were a LOT of those moments. I am on the 7th book and the bloom is a wee bit gone from the rose, as it were. For the first 6 to be so thrilling...to the point I couldn't wait until bedtime so I could read more...the 7th has come to a crushing halt and I'm having a hard time staying with it. But, even still, the first six were great and deserve a 5 in my opinion.Another comment I read from people is: How can a preppied up, lazy slacker boy turn into a courageous, quasi-super-hero almost overnight. Well, I don't think in normal life he would have but, due to the virus wiping out a lot of his cautionary behavior and empathy, it left him somewhat of a meaner, bad ass type personality who had to search deep to find his soft side. I think the writing is excellent and a few typos or miss-information doesn't bother me a bit. Ease up people, this is fiction! Plus, Mr. Adair gave us hours upon hours of good entertainment for only .99 cents! Now...what could be better than that? We should be thanking Adair, not slandering him and picking apart his thought processes in writing this book. It's HIS writing style, not yours. Write your own book. The book was over-all great reading, exciting, nail-biting journeys that I totally enjoyed. (I just skipped over the gory parts because they were too upsetting for me). I was warmed by Zed and Murphy's respect and love for each other and the bond that they formed; and I'm looking forward to finishing this series and on to book 10! Thank you, Bobby Adair, for your talent and obvious keen knowledge of human dynamics. Also, you must have a great wit because I LOL at some of the funny, off-the-cuff remarks between some of the characters! It really lightened things which was sorely needed. Thanks again.

Best read in a long time!
I hated when this series ended! It was like I picked it up, and the whole thing flew by! Great read.

Keeps you coming back
Fun read with a good mix of humor and drama. Well written. You don't have the impression of reading the script from a bad B-movie like many of these apocalyptic series. Very good character development. Quite entertaining.

Bom início
Os dois primeiros livros são bons. Do terceiro adiante fica bastante tedioso.

Breathtaking action
The caracters are very well developed, easy readable books with a very vivid use of language. For me, as a non-native english reader, a 10/10 for the author!

Must read!
I just couldn't stop reading! I love the writing style. It's my first time reading this author and won't be the last! 9 books is long to read but doesn't seem like it at all!I really like Zed and Murphy, they're slow burn, they don't fit anywhere... They have a strong friendship and are trying to survive in this world. Many things will happen to them, they will meet people, will be betrayed, find love... they will lost a lot in order to live.I like the characters development and all the secondary characters are great too.You won't be disappointed!

Half-assed Storyline
Could have been a great compilation....Unfortunately, the author relied too much on the main character's (Zed) "mental masturbations" and on the "Abbot -Costello" dialogs between him and Murphy. Also, too many words were spent on insignificant and useless "action scenes".I admit, I'm NOT a zombie-thriller fan but this collection just does not convince me and makes me even more of an antagonist to such trivia.
