Don’t buy the black pipes
I wanted to use these pipes to give the black on the bike a little kick. Not to mention I love the loud straight pipes and the bike in itself seems to run better over all with them on it . After only about 250 miles most of witch was on one ride . I washed the bike . Two days later I’m out in the garage and noticed as I’m whipping down the bike before doing a wax and chrome polish from to back . The right side pipe has a huge area at the front where they slip on just past the heat shield is missing a 2 in by 2 inch or so area of paint . My bike is very clean . I work hard to keep her looking flawless and new . She’s a 2009 street glide with just under 9,000 miles and looks so good people give me compliments almost to often. So this will not due. I was really hoping that the paint on these wouldn’t come off like the add seems to brag about. Seems not the case . So I’ll now have to pull them off and exchange them for the chrome ones as this lays proof to the standard of not peeling isn’t true. Just wiping that area with mcguires quick detailed the paint is coming off on the rag in abundance . We’ll see how the chrome ones look . Not what I wanted to do . But since this product has failed over only 250 miles and really wanted black pipes . Sadly I will have to go chrome . Ugh . I have enough chrome already. Wanted black. But love the fishtails . So hopefully the chrome ones will at least not flake off and stay chrome for more than a couple weeks . Easy to install and remove at least. Sound is awsome and look really cool till they start having paint come off. After 2 weeks .
