I don't get how they charge so low for this watch
So after doing some research, I passed on Swiss movement in favor of Japanese because of their famed "best value for money" approach to watches. I've heard very good things about Orient, and I have to say it is very good for the price I paid. Not only is it an automatic movement, but the build quality is excellent, the design is superb, and the leather strap... Which most watch makers go cheap on... Is probably the best quality leather I've seen on a watch. Orient also uses sapphire crystal when even comparable Seiko uses hardlex crystal, which is good but not as scratch resistant. It does not look cheap and it's a really beautiful strap. It is very hard to find a watch for this price that has day of the month, week, moonphase/sun, all in one.If you are looking for moderately priced watches to coordinate with suits and belt combos, and need a variety of strap colors and watch designs without spending thousands, definitely look into orient watches... Their history of quality watches clearly comes out with this watch and many others.

great qaulity. but few cons
the qaulity of the watch is great. a few cons though. the tuesday writing bothers me ! they should have just left it out...in stead they put it on the inside of the dail. they 3day calender is pointless...they could have saved space with just 1day. the logo is to small..they could have made the numbers a little smaller...to make space.

Quality
Purchased for my son who had requested it as a gift. He was pleased. Will most likely replace the band.

Great value from a respectable brand
Beautiful watch, great quality. Technically a men's size, but I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend and it was a hit. Looks great even on her small wrist.

Solid Complicated Movement - But Not Perfect
I bought this model in person on a trip to Osaka, I wanted to buy a nice authentic Japanese watch without breaking the bank and this fit the bill. The movement is accurate and solid - Orients use Epson (Seiko) movements, which are quite reliable and easy to service. It’s nearly impossible to find a complicated automatic watch at this price point - so getting the day of week, date, and sun/moon inductors is a really nice touch. The crystal is solid and the leather band is nice, and it even comes with a metal quick release clasp. For folks with a smaller wrist, be warned that it is quite a large watch, the case width isn’t too bad but it’s pretty thick/tall, almost like a little hockey puck. I’ll still wear it, but definitely my thickest watch and a factor to consider when getting dressed for the day.Someone else mentioned that seeing 3 dates in the window is weird, and the placement of the Tuesday indicator is awkward. I also agree with those points, but they’re minor aesthetic details - and clearly visible in the pictures online.Overall a good watch, and solid value for the money - but the thick case and minor design imperfections keep this from being my favorite.
