good value
Not the cheapest on the market but it does the job. I tried the chemical method first and what a nightmare! Took an hour to scrape off a few inches. Exhausting and messy. I then bought this machine. Partly chosen because it had no reviews at the time which meant I wasn't conflicted with a range of responses! The advantage of this is that it has 2 sizes of plate, large and small. Very useful as the smaller one can get into tricky places like below electric sockets. You have to judge how long to hold the plate against the wall as if you leave it too long you will melt the paint. I did this several times so had to use a bit of filler afterwards.Do leave plenty of time. It is quite tiring holding your arm up and balancing on a step ladder. It really isn't an afternoon's work for your average amateur!I did 2 rooms and for some reason the second room took far less time than the first. Whether it was the quality of the paper or strength of glue I would't know.I'm not the most cautious of workers but I managed to work for several hours and not get scalded or shocked. It has a water softener so perhaps that solves the problem some machines have in hard water areas. It is still a good idea to empty it every night. It kept going for about 50 minutes on one tank.

Absolute junk
First off, some genius in the factory thought it would be a good idea to make the hose out of a plastic which melts at about the temperature of boiling water. So after one use that fell apart in a molten mess with the inner pipe sprouting though the outer shield. Luckily the hose from my old steamer fitter, so I swapped it, and all was good.2nd use it died - basically overheated. The way it works is a small oscillating pump pushes the water through a heating element and if the water doesn't flow quick enough, it overheats and cuts out. When it cools down, it starts again - hence some people reporting stop-start behaviour. On mine, the filter in the bottle had let millions of little balls into the water, which clogged up the inline filter and prevented water flow. So being a budding DIYer, it came apart, I cleaned it all out and put it back together and all was well. For about 1 more room - and went back in the loft until this week. And I can't get it to work - it doesn't matter what I do, it will only run for 30 seconds before over-heating. The pump is just pants. Because I've had it apart, I'm not going to bother sending it back. I bought it in November last year and I've used it for a total of about 2 hours over the 5-6 months I've had it. The nature of wallpaper stripping is that it's not something you do every day, so these probably sit idle for most of their lives but you would expect them to work for a little longer than 2 rooms. At first I liked the design cos it heats up almost instantly, due to the element only heating the water as it's needed unlike the big kettle designs which take 30 minutes to get going. However, the choice of components and materials have really let it down and overall it's a complete waste of money.

Highly recommend
Ordered to finish off a job started with an old family steamer that eventually gave up. Product is amazing, so easy to use and set up. Ready to go within 5 minutes and the smaller pad is great for those awkward spots, that was one of the main reasons I chose this model as a lot only come with the big pad.I’m just Disappointed that I didn’t order at the beginning of stripping my hall as it would have made the job so much easier and quicker than using my old one.Highly recommended

Broke after one use! Never worked again, just would not heat up.
Avoid this! I bought it, put it together switched it on, heated up in no time. Great, I did half a room then I switched off to let it cool down and then I refilled the water and switched it on an hour later and sat there waiting... 1 hour later still nothing. Evey 10mins or so there would be a splutter of water. We tried over two days to get it to work as we needed to finish the job we started. THIS IS THE WORST ITEM I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. Stay clear!

Easy to use
Easy to use. Stripped wallpaper off well. Make sure to dry bowl of steamer when putting more water in as it cut out if I didn't do this between refills. Think it must be a safety feature

Awful just avoid buy elsewhere!!
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely terrible, it heated up within 30 seconds perfectly stripped half a wall and then boom. Stopped working completely! Broke on it’s first use! Awful product don’t waste your time buy the black and decker one it’s much better.

before you assume its faulty
the wallpaper stripper worked fine at first but the third time we refilled it, it didn't work, my husband suggested that maybe it needs to fill to the top ...which I thought was nonsense and got straight on to amazon to return it, but weirdly it did work and we haven't had a problem since (although we have only used it for one job).... I don't think it says anything about filling to the brim in the instructions, but my husband has lost them so I can't check....but so far so good
