My favorite walking/workout shoe
These are my favorite shoes for exercise. Mostly I just walk & do light routines at home. Nothing crazy, & no extensive running or jogging. But these shoes are the best; this is my 3rd pair, been using this specific shoe model for about 6-7 years. They are comfortable to wear right out of the box. They're great for all day wearing if needed, the laces are strong & long enough to do the heel-lock tie. They look good, fit properly & run pretty accurate on size. Also pretty comfy on wider feet. The only things worth noting are these shoes are not the best to wear in rain or on wet, slick ground, in my opinion. I just don't think they're designed to be the best shoe for those conditions, & they aren't waterproof. But the reasons above are why I bought my 3rd pair intentionally, & I'll wear these into the ground like my first 2 pairs.

Painful Tabs, Comfortable After Breaking In
I received my New Balance Men's 520v5 between 1 and 2 months ago. When I first received the shoe, I was extremely disappointed. The shoe looked nice and fit comfortably around the lower portion of my foot, even more so than other New Balance sneakers I have owned. However, something hard on the bottom tab painfully rubbed against the top of my foot, with the friction and movement as I walked. The thing on the bottom of the tab had consistency similar to a shoelace end. It was present on both outer sides of each tab, but was worst on the left side of the left tab. The top of my feet would get red scratches from the tab edge rubbing against them, even when wearing thick socks. I tried wearing band-aids on my feet to protect against the tab edge, which helped, but the band-aids would eventually come off with the friction. At the time, running or hiking with the shoes was impossible. I could only go on short walks, so long as I had protection against the tab edge.I considered returning the shoe, but decided I'd give it more time, to see how the tab issue changed over time. The tab friction decreased with each week, and the shoelace end like thing outer tabs became smaller and smoother. After a little over a month, the tab friction was barely noticeable when wearing thick socks. A short time later, I tried running and hiking in the shoes, both of which were successful. Now that I've owned the shoes for nearly 2 months, I no longer require thick socks. The shoes are comfortable under all conditions, so I wear them nearly each day. After having broken them in, I prefer the 520v5 to older New Balance 632s and 608s I have owned. Aside from the tab issue, I find the shoes more comfortable than other NB, with the softer mesh siding and more comfortable cushioning at the bottom. The mesh doesn't look sturdy, but it shows no signs of failing. After nearly 2 months of wearing the sneaker and going on many runs/hikes, the shoes are still in great condition with no visible signs of damage. I'll update this review, if this changes.

Nice Running Shoe, But Lacks Cushion and Arch Support
Overall I really like this shoe. I do a 5K run on pavement nearly every morning, and these are nice, light-weight breathable shoes for this kind of run. They fit me perfectly (8.5 extra wide). My only complaint (and reason for 4-star rating) is they have next to no cushion or arch support - definitely not suitable for longer runs, at least out of the box. The provided insoles are nearly flat, at the thickest points about 5/32 of an inch, and the thinnest points no more than 3/32 of an inch. The built-in arch of the shoe itself is pretty minimal. I replaced the original insoles with a $12 pair of Dr. Scholl's running insoles, and the shoe is now about as good as I can imagine a running shoe to be. But that does add another $12 to the cost of the shoe, and a bit of weight. Can't speak for the shoe's longevity as I've only had these for about a month. Still, at the relatively low price point of this shoe, it is a pretty good buy which I definitely recommend - just be prepared to buy some replacement insoles if you find the ground too hard under your feet.

Great fit and support for compromised feet
These shoes give me the fit and support I need with bunions, hammertoes, flat feet and arthritis in my feet. These are my 2nd pair and waiting for the third pair to arrive. My seller shipped quickly.

A Pretty Good pair of running trainers.
This is my 3rd pair of New Balance trainers, I think they are better as a racing shoe rather than a 'mileage' shoe, as the sole is quite soft and you can feel the road through the soles and there is not much ankle support, but they are extremely comfortable and hard wearing.

Nice shoes, not the best of materials
I love these trainers, super comfy. Fit well. Arrived on time. However, after a few weeks or maybe months use they developed a hole in the roof of the shoe which is quite obvious. They hadn't been near sharp objects or anything to cause it so it's just what's happened after daily use.

A great running shoe for a great price!
I ordered these for my 13 yr old son as he'd grown out of his other NB shoes very suddenly, I swear by NB running shoes and have worn them myself for nearly 20 years for running all sorts of distances. I was really pleased just how quickly these arrived and how nice they are for a reasonable price he is not the sportiest of boys but he does need comfort when he does move and I feel assured that these will give him that in whatever activity he does do.

Very good pair of trainers
First of all the fit is spot on. My size is 11.5 and these fit me perfectly. Just the one negative...grip in the wet isn't great over smooth surfaces, so be careful of metal grids or we pool sides! Comfort wise they are a delight and very light to wear, making them a great running trainer. Glad I purchased them, but I'll be looking for an alternative trainer for the wet weather.

Comfortable.
Great trainers for doing a bit of jogging. I am a big guy and this is my second pair of these. They stood up for about a year of doing 5k at least twice a week. I did get a 12.5 although usually a size 11 so best get a least 1 size bigger.
