Great stuff!!
This is great stuff! I didn't buy it as a "metabolism booster", so I can't speak to that. I was looking for a rich tasting, low cal/glycemic natural sugar substitute - and this delivers. It tastes very much like molasses, giving food (mostly tea, in my case) a rich caramel undertone that is missing with other low-cal sweeteners. 1/2 tablespoon of the taconite syrup and 4 or 5 drops of stevia in a cup of tea is wonderful.I have been losing weight while drinking the syrup. I won't say that it's contributing to the weight loss, but it definitely isn't hurting. I would also say that it does seem to have a gentle laxative effect from the inulin. This is very helpful on a high-protein diet.Speaking of inulin... There is quite a lot in yacon syrup. And yes, it does settle to the bottom,of the bottle. Please ignore the negative reviews regarding "sludge" on the bottom, and the ridiculous claims that it won't re-combine with the syrup, or is insolvable in water, etc. The bottle will arrive with a good deal of sediment - this is largely the inulin, which is the primary health benefit of taking yacon syrup. A good mixing with a thin, sturdy mixing rod or plastic chopstick and you are good to go. It will be thick, but bear with it. Then just be sure to shake well before each use. And a little hot water readily gets the last bit of goodness out of the bottle.Others have commented on the headroom in the bottle and how that's a "rip-off". The bottle I received definitely was not full. The syrup is quite dense, and I believe what is happening is that they are shipping 8oz by weight rather than volume. This is definitely an issue given the labeling on the package. But the extra space in the bottle is nice for shaking it up. Am I getting ripped off? Probably. But the syrup is so good that I just don't feel that I'm over paying for the product I am receiving. YMMV.

I {think} I Like 100% Pure Yacon Syrup!! C+
As far as natural sweeteners go, this one is pretty good!Said to boost metabolism and aid in general weight-loss.Pros and Cons:Pros:1. Speeds metabolism (may aid in weight-loss)2. Glycemic-Index Friendly-- (so diabetes friendly--consult your physician first to be sure)3. Taste. Flavor-wise it does have a full-bodied mocha/chocolate-esque/coffee plus molasses type flavor that works well with traditionally rich, coffee and/or chocolate drinks. It seems to be palatable, so if you have to take it straight, it won't make you gag like some of the other syrupy supplements -- a big plus in our book! And if you like gourmet syrups and/or molasses, you can definitely try other user suggestions of using it to top off pancakes and waffles.Cons:1. The price. It cost too much for the size of the bottle you get.2. Limits of Use. As stated it has a very distinctive, rich flavor, so you can only use it for certain (types of ) foods and beverages that the flavor will truly compliment (coffee, chocolate)-- And if you are a plain maple syrup kind of person, you won't really want to use it on your pancakes and waffles, --but it is worth a shot...3. The serving size indicated is up to 1teaspoon, and the bottle is only 8oz so using it as a standard topping or sweetener will require more bottles, but just taking it straight or adding a single serving to a single daily smoothie (like castor oil) will last over a month...4. for some reason about a-quarter of the bottle becomes an unusable solid-mass at the bottom of the bottle. And will not come out, so it's kind of like getting a bottle that is only half-full, and for the cost it may be a deal breaker for some...**Some have suggested warming the bottle in very warm water or next to a heat lamp or vent to loosen up the remaining syrup--might be worth a shot..***Now, for our purposes, we decided to use it to sweeten (and only reduce the total sugar amount used in) coffee and hot chocolates, -- and also to boost Pure Maple Syrup and honey, so in THAT context, it seemed to work out okay.As far as using it straight on it's own in place of said sweeteners, in large amounts, well, as previously stated, the flavor is pretty distinctive, so used in a smaller context to support or add to flavors, but in small amounts might be okay, whereas full-on-use in larger amounts, as in the case of those seeking an outright sugar-substitute, might be too much, in the way of sickly sweetness (like eating too much vanilla extract).Overall, nutritionally speaking, it's said to increase metabolism and balance blood sugars, so it's definitely something that can benefit those who want to reduce their sugar use, or who have metabolic issues, so for the potential weight-loss benefits and flavoring the coffee and chocolate drinks alone, it's definitely worth a try.***And/but as the recommended dose is relatively small, if the goal is to get the full benefit as a blood stabilizer, then perhaps taking it straight-- like one would when taking a spoonful of castor oil-- is the best approach. Our grade; C+, or 3.5-Stars!

I'll use yacon syrup forever !!!!!!!!
Great product. Tastes absolutely amazing and I'm not as hungry when I take it before I eat. I have noticed the first half of the bottle comes out as the normal thick syrup you'd compare to molasses, easy to pour into a teaspoon. Typically the bottom half is very thick and not able to pour out of the bottle, but don't let that deter you, cut the top half of the bottle off with a pair of safety scissors and put a lunch sandwich Baggie over it and stick it in the refrigerator. Although you'll have to scoop out each serving if it's hardened, none of it will go to waste. Lost 13 pounds since using this product. I'll be buying this forever. Just amazing and I don't mind scooping it out of the bottom of the bottle after I cut the top off either. It tastes way too great to waste any of it, and it's not super expensive but it's definitely not super cheap. Unfortunately the price has recently jumped quite a bit on this product, so i'm going to have to give this brand up temporarily and search for another brand to purchase
