Long and Short Medieval Tunics Pattern

On a hanger, this looks kinda 'meh,' but in linen and on a person it's a really solid pattern.If you have any sewing experience at all, this should be fairly simple.I bought this to make four tunics in three sizes. The ridiculous number of versions of this pattern made cutting it out really confusing (especially to match marks). You have to trace the sheets if you are cutting two different views. That said, once cut, it only takes about an hour to sew together the base and if you machine sewed the rolled inside hems it wouldn't take much longer.Picture is of View II tunic waiting to be embroidered and hemmed.

Exactly as described

I understand that it took the pattern designer a lot of work and I think the historical information is great. I think it’s amazing that you can do anything from child to adult from these patterns. I tried view 7 in a medium.If I decide to try more views, I will update my review:The necklines do not line up. I didn’t realize until after I cut the linen so I had to match the wide front to the back and therefore the neckline is now wrong period. And of course the neckline facings are wrong and do not match.Medium means XXL as far as I can tell. I think I look better in a potato sack. I literally have to take out 4” front AND back.In addition, there are no sewing directions.These patterns are not for:Beginner sewersThose without pattern experiencePeople who get frustrated easilyI kinda think medieval patterns are easier without the pattern now that I’ve tried this pattern.

In addition to multiple sizes from child to XXL adult, there were three sheets with ideas for decoration and pictures and descriptions of costumes in context.

The pattern sheet are extremely confusing. with multiple sizes and styles on the same sheet. Unless you have ALOT of patience and tracing success forget making any more than 1 of the styles provided. For the price you should have had each style on its own sheet.Will not buy from this manufacturer again.

One of the worst instruction sheets I have ever encountered. I do a lot of costuming and some quite complicated...this is absurd.
