Update, I bought this hoping it would help with the pain in my shoulder, I have a torn rotator cuff but I am too hard headed to go get the surgery to fix it because of the amount of time needed for recovery. I tried this and it does work, I used it every day for two weeks and the pain was gone, the problem is that I rubbed on too much and when I showered it burn like heck, even after 8 hours after putting it on and showered later, I put the shower head pointed at my shoulder and just the steam and water bouncing oof my shoulder made it feel like I was getting pepper sprayed. I guess I was ina way getting pepper sprayed. Here is a tip for you, rub a little at a time then wait about 20 minutes then rub a cold wash rag ot face towel on it and see if it burns too much, if it does then rub a little less the next day. if not then rub a little more. If you use it every day without fail for about 2 weeks you can then use every other day then every 2 days. This is a Great Safe Buy

I have been using this product for many years with excellent results. It is the strongest OTC capsaicin product available without a prescription. I do recommend that if you just start with this to be cautious because being as strong as it is, it will burn. Some find it too intense to use, but I can assure you that if you start slowly, you will find your pain goes away and stays away for 24 hours. I am trying to find out why it is not available as regularly as it once was and Amazon is the only place I have been able to find it consistently.

This is a really good pain killer, but unfortunately, it's impossible not to get on your hands at some point after the application....and your hands/fingers will inevitably touch your eyes, resulting in painful stinging for a few minutes, maybe longer. It also dries in a very fine dust that gets into your lungs for a days-long dry cough that is annoying. It's a shame because it really works to relieve 85% of the pain...it's just too difficult NOT to get on your hands after the application! It causes a slight stinging, itching and pin-prick sensation that begs one to scratch or rub the affected area, once that happens, even inadvertently, your hands become lethal weapons for the rest of the day. Even soapy water and scrubing does not completely take it off your fingers...it continues to transfer the Capsasin to whatever part of your body you touch. Somebody should figure out how to put this into a pill!

I used this product for nerve pain in my upper arms and elbows. It's VERY important to use only one layer and be sure to wipe off any excess. It does stop my pain through the night. But I suffered the consequences of putting on too much. One night I woke up about 2 hours after going to bed and my arms were itching something terrible. I tried washing the stuff off with soap and water first. That didn't help, then a prescription itch preventer that I had on hand. I put on several layers of that then went to bed and 15 min later had to get up again so I tried an ice pack for about 20 min and that calmed the itch down and I was able to go back to sleep. I kind of feel that I have to use it for my pain because that is the only way I can get any sleep. Believe me if there was any thing else that lasted through the night, I would throw this stuff in the trash.

Thought this product would be just what my wife and I would need for our arthritis pain. And it does seem to work WHEN we can get the ball to roll on top to get the medicine onto the area's we need to put it on. We really have to add way to much pressure to get the ball to roll, then it still takes forever to see anything come out. We've tried not applying pressure, roller won't move. It has actually caused more pain in the area, from all the pressure and rolling. Not sure if theres something wrong with our roller or bottle or not.

This is great stuff and the storefront that ships it here on Amazon is great too. Too bad they do not make it anymore and the stock people still have left is going bad. Bad as in it does not work anymore.

I'm using it on both hands for carpel tunnel pain and on my knees for arthritis pain. So far, it seems to help on my knees but not my hands. I stopped using it and switched to CBC and I think it works better on both. I'll continue with my very unscientifical (yes, I know that's not a word but I like it anyway) testing but ... The packaging really ticked me off. I'm sick of big boxes that hold small containers. Compare the seller's photo at the top with mine. Not only are the relative sizes of the bottles very different, the actual product is less than half of the bottle. Yes, the amount is marked on the box as well as the bottle but we all know that what we tend to judge things by what we see and this is dirty little trick manufacturers play on us.

First, product is effective. I am 60 with "sore" knees. I wanted something , not oral, to help so I can do strengthening exercises for muscles they help support the knees. Within the same day I found relief. I have continued to work for about a week and I can not stress the knees without pain. Product is not greasy and is thin so it goes on clean. I have ordered more. Warning though, wash your hands after applying. (Follow up from original review: The cap has a label with huge letters with this instruction... Can't believe I missed it!) Even though it is a roll on I must have got some on my hands and found it irritated my eyes. Also my found my throat was getting dry. I probably used too much. So I washed my knees off one night, then applied must less the next day... I have been good since.... So in summary very effective, just practice some common sense which I did not do!
