Great!
My snails and shrimp love this. The directions are not so clear though. I personally mix less than half of the provided scoop with water. and use a pipette to drop it around the tank on wood/plant leaves and such.

Shrimp and snails go nuts for this!
Shrimp and snails think this is a delicacy! I noticed a marked increase in microfauna, algae, and everything shrimp and snails love after feeding this. Keeps my shrimplets happy too. Possibly easy to overfeed depending on the size of your tank. Love the design of the packaging in that the insert keeps the scoop from disappearing into the container. One container goes a long way too!

Great shrimp food
Great stuff, the directions are wrong though, only use a TINY bit like other reviewers are saying.

Shrimp love it
The shrimp love it, and it's small enough for the smallest shrimp. Does seem to cause more algae growth, but biofilm is the best thing for shrimp so in this instance I'll chalk it up as a good thing.

Good product, kept my shrimp alive but please learn how to use properly and don’t OVERFEED
The media could not be loaded. BacterAE is good! I had a really hard time with neocaridina shrimp in my community tank because they wouldn’t eat supplemental food and are very sensitive in general. This food was my lifeline that kept them alive for months (I did miss feeding for 5 days and they did die). Unfortunately, I did have an algae bloom and notice hundreds of detritus worms while using BacterAE. Now that I’m not using it, they are gone and algae is low. It’s possible that I was overfeeding which caused the worms. I recommend that you learn exactly how to use this product before use if you don’t want detritus worms.

Shrimp are more active now
I was skeptical that this off-white powder was doing anything except making the water cloudy for a while. I dosed every other day for a week in a 35 liter tank. I used way less than the enclosed spoon would hold- just a minute amount that would fit on the tip of a popsicle stick.During the second week I was impressed. The shrimp seems more alive, swimming around the tank. Perhaps I saw more baby shrimp but I'm not certain at the moment. Note that this is not a food replacement- you still have to feed your shrimp. I believe is creates micro bacteria that the babies and even adults can snack on.
