My kids were so excited to give me this mug, and so was I to receive it...until I tried to attach Lego pieces to it. They don't fit. Too loose. Anything that does manage to stay on would likely fall off if you tried to use it as a mug. :(Mine came with an off-brand Captain America figure and a 4x4 flat square. It sort of fits but is not as tight as a real Lego should fit. I wonder if they threw that in to cut down on returns? I am torn on whether or not to return it.***UPDATE***I decided to keep the mug and mod it. I bought some plates from the LEGO shop (http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Pick-A-Brick-ByTheme) and glued them to the mug using Oatey PVC cement ($2.50 at Walmart). The glue melts the plastic a little so be sure to work quickly, have adequate ventilation, use a small natural bristle brush to apply the glue to both the pieces and the mug, and be careful not to use too much (excess glue will mar the finish). I kept some acetone and alcohol on hand for cleanup.I have the dark gray mug and decided to go with medium gray LEGO plates. I was able to order a single 4x12 large plate for the front of the mug, along with smaller plates to fill in the rest. Depending on your color choices, you may have to order smaller pieces to cover the mug (e.g., the only 1x12 plates I found were white). And there may be a few spots that won't accept a LEGO piece, namely the bottom row and the sides with recessed holes.*** UPDATE #2 ***I drank some coffee out of the mug today for the first time. It may be BPA-free, but I did pick up on a slight plastic taste to the coffee (similar to when you drink hot coffee out of a styrofoam cup versus a ceramic cup). I didn't see any other reviewers mention this, so YMMV (especially if you are not a coffee snob like me). I am enjoying the mug more as a novelty and may just use it to drink cold beverages. I do hope that it is as food-safe as the product description indicates.

Not perfect, but a nice little novelty item that is fun (helpful/honest reviewer)
I try to be as helpful and honest in my reviews so please review and like if this helps. As a mug: - This seems to be more of a novelty than a usable mug. - That said, it is actually not a bad mug as the inside is properly made (some novelty mugs are hollowed on the inner sides, this is not) - I do not recommend drinking from this with items on the side. only from the front does it seem possible.Holding Lego/MegaBloks: Some reviews speak otherwise BUT: - every hole has held items very well and worked fine.REASON FOR 4 STAR AND NOT 5: - As nice as it has been, the holes are not even (you can see this in the picture) and so building on it is more difficult than it probably should be. They do not evenly line up and so placing consecutive blocks does not work well. That beings said, I have my little megablok halo figurines lining the front of mine and it is fun.PLUS: you also receive a little set of lego-esque building set of a small vehicle rocket launcher.

Lots of Fun and Makes Me Smile!
I love this coffee mug! I got it for my office as a decoration and something to make me smile when I look at it. It's perfect! I have not tried LEGOs with it yet, but plan to and will update this review once I have. As you can see from the photos, I have a Doctor Who Monsters of Doctor Who character builder set on my cup. I'm hoping to get LEGOs for my birthday soon to put inside the cup and use to decorate other parts of the cup. Will update as soon as I get them. This is fun to play with and makes me smile when I look at it.Update 3/2/15: I found some Legos to try out with the cup. The ones and twos can fit most of the cup. Anything bigger did not seem to fit (fours, etc.). The other pieces don't fit very tightly, but it's O.K. for display. (Just a note, I taped the Doctor Who Doctors on top of the cup.)

Nice gift
Received as a gift. Not sure what the little bricks included are supposed to be - speedboat? Lip of cup is a little too thick so I sometimes end up spilling but really like this cup. EDIT: Have had this for a few weeks now and, when I hand wash it (have never put it in dishwasher), I have to hold it upside down to let water drain from inside of the cup (not the inside of the cup, but the INTERIOR - where water is not supposed to be!) :(

To build or not to build
This was a Great product!!! The mug its self overall is an interesting conversation starter but that is merely the outside! The inside and the deeper meaning is what I truly found once I received this. It is like a blank canvas for which one could paint but the artistry is all dependent on you and if you paint a Mona Lisa or if if it looks like i the inside of my toilet after Taco Bell! The possibility is endless and that is what makes this product a four star because I like it but there are way too many options and it gives me anxiety...

build on coffee mug
I purchased this coffee mug as a gift for my husband, who has a *thing* for mugs. He loves it, and I think it's kind of cool myself. I only have one complaint: the product said it did not come with any block pieces, so I purchased some for him to use with it. When the product arrived it did in fact come with block pieces. It would have been nice to know that, and I would have saved the money purchasing the extra blocks that I did. Other than that, it's a fun mug!

LEGOS FIT FINE
I bought this for my husband for Christmas, but my son and I play with it too. Legos fit this fine! I don't know what kind of legos the other reviews are using that don't fit, but real legos fit fine. I'll even post photos soon for proof. We have most of the Lord of the Rings series of legos, a lot of star wars, etc. Our family is really into legos. This cup has been a centerpiece of fun at our table. We've had lego characters hanging from and walking the side of the cup. None have fallen off of their own accord. Definitely a 5 star review from our lego family. 3 of us are having fun with it, and use it for drinks. I plan to purchase the red one soon!

very cool mug
This is a novelty product. It works very well for the function it was created for which is as a beverage receptacle. The "lego" aspect of this was a little bit disappointing, there are really only a few surfaces that actual lego can be attached (see picture). Overall the effect and visual aspect of this mug are pretty cool!!

The "Lego" brand legos loosely fit the connectors of the bricks. The people will not stay and the bricks barely stay fastened to the side of the mug. It is larger than expected and is difficult to drink out of. It has become a pen cup in our house. Neat idea but frustrating to build on.

Better in theory than actuality
Really cool concept but other Lego doesn’t stay on the cup and it only comes with a few pieces which can’t really be used to make anything on the cup itself. Better in theory than in actuality.

LEGO Cup
The transaction was fine and the packaging was fine it arrive on time. There were only a few pieces of LEGO blocks compared to the hype it advertised about all the building you could do. It also show showed it having wheels on the picture it did not come with LEGO wheels. Also after using it as an actual cup then washing it it takes on water and you can hear it slashing around in the middle of the cup. I am sure mild will grow inside. So this is meant to be a toy not a cup not worth the price

Quite dissappointing
Arrived in time, but Lego pieces dont actually fit!! Nor do the fake lego pieces it came with. Total false advertising and quite dissapointing.
