Great bike
I was apprehensive buying this bike after reading some of the negative reviews. I didn't let them stop me however, and I'm glad I didn't. First I would like to address the shipping. Everything was in the box, everything was wrapped in foam for protection, and there isn't a single scratch on the bike. The bike itself is very sturdy and built solidly. I used to work for a company that assembled bikes in bulk for department stores such as Walmart, Kmart, Toy R Us, etc. I have worked on MANY of those really low quality bikes. The Retrospec is not one of them. If I had to choose a complaint, I would pick on the pedals. They dont have the best bearings in them, and they are mostly plastic, but this is a beach cruiser bike. Those pedals shouldn't be taking too much abuse. I myself will probably switch them out withing my first year of ownership, but I'm pretty sure it won't be necessary. I just like a grippy metal pedal that grabs my sneakers. All in all, I like this bike. I bought the 29 inch bike. I am 6' 2" and weigh around 250lbs, and the bike works for me. I am a casual rider that likes to ride on easy paved trails, so I dont need an aggressive $1,000 bike.

Okay entry level or subdivision bike.
Price:The regular price of about $240 is standard for the quality of the bicycle. I purchased a scratch and dent model for $120 and fixed the paint problem in less than an hour.Parts:Okay entry level parts with exceptions. I.E., the bolt to attach the kick stand was stripped at the factory and I had to replace it with a new one. Bell in photo is add on purchase.Packaging and Set up:Bike was well packaged and assembly took less than an hour.Factory Support: Westridge Outdoors did not answer email or phone requests. So I would have to say that I am on my own for support.

Don't buy this bike, Wheels and tires narrow as a Road bike, Not a Beach cruiser
This bike is not a Beach Cruiser, Why! frame looks like a beach cruiser but not wide enough at rear triangle, And has very narrow wheel rims and tires. Rims are 24.8mm wide, not even one inch, Tires are 26" x 1.25.A decent Beach Cruiser has 32mm or wider wheel rims with 26" x 2.25 or larger tires. This bike is a cheap low end copy of a Beach Cruiser, the wheel and tires will sink in sand or soft dirt like a anchor. The rear triangle is too narrow for wider wheels or larger tires, Tires will rub on chain and or kickstand. And the original wheel rims are too narrow for fatter tires, the original tires are pulled round just to fit the skinny wheel rims. There is a better bike listed as a Beach Cruiser, name starts with a F, That bike has Beach Cruiser size wheel rims and tires, And a frame rear triangle that is wider where it counts. It also comes with Chrome headset, stem, bars and crank assembly and has a better kickstand, the bike is not made in China. My reasons are that I have been working on and building all types of Bicycles for over 45 years, And I compared both bikes I am writing about.

The Most Comfortable Bike I Have Ever Ridden!!!
Just received my bike (on time as promised) and I absolutely love this thing! Assembly was a breeze, most tools are included (minus a phillips head) but I used my own adjustable wrenches and a socket for the seat. It went together in about 30 minutes. Only assembly needed was the front tire, handle bars, gooseneck, seat, seatpost, pedals and front reflector. Put some air in the tires and you're road ready! Construction is very nice, finish is beautiful!!! The titanium gray with orange rims and branding look like a million dollars. The weld joints are pretty clean and are clearly created by hand. Overall, I am extremely happy with the quality to price ratio!THE RIDE:After airing up the tires, I took it for spin of a few miles, then based on that, I adjusted the seat and gooseneck/handlebar setup and the bike was absolutely perfectly custom set up to fit me! And the gears!!! The 3 speed Shimano Nexus internal shifting hub is geared absolutely perfectly for streets and light paths here in south Florida! My only complaint (and it's not even really a complaint) is that the frame is steel instead of aluminum, so it is a bit heavier than I would prefer, but that is not enough of a drawback to lose a five star rating. This is absolutely the most comfortable bike I have ever owned orvridden!I will be adding to this review as I really get to test this thing out.

Do over
While the bike itself more than fits what I expected, there was a slight problem that surprised me. The bike had been used before due to the tiny marks on the frame and stuff on the tires. These were not shipping marks. Obviously, it was returned by someone and reshipped to me by the seller. I hope it continues to work fine.

Highly recommend
This bike far met my expectations and went beyond. I want to start saying I researched beach cruisers for a month before buying this one. It has a shimano tourney which I was a little worried about getting a cheap one. The handlebars are perfect for me and very soft foam grips. The rims are very nice and strong. The brakes work well and both the shimano tourney and the brakes need adjusting. I recommend looking up the shimano tourney on YouTube there's a video on how to adjust it. Otherwise it can destroy your rim. Good luck and safe travels.

Retrospec Chatham Men's Beach Cruiser
Absolutely gorgeous and well constructed bike with a yester-year look. We presented this bike as a gift to an aging former athlete who needed some activity and a high dose of pleasure. The bike comes nearly assembled in the box. The Chatham has a large leather seat to facilitate longer rides. Someday I may just purchase one for myself. Until then, I plan to monitor my friend to see how he's enjoying it over time. From what I'm told about the look and build quality, I consider this purchase a wise one. Thank you Chatham!!

Skip this, get a sixthreezero
Skip this bike and go with sixthreezero. Quality with this bike leaves more to be desired. My front wheel is crooked and the bearings aren’t that smooth. The seat is cheaply made. Our sixthreezero bike is the same price and triple the quality. Would not buy again.

Nice Cruiser
I purchased this bike for the sole intention of motorizing it. I love the look of the bike Even before basically tearing it apart i took it for several rides and it is a dream...the seat is one of the most comfortable i have sat on ...The bike is made out of steel and not alluminum . My particular bike came with the newest of new Shimano 3 Speed Nexus interal gears . I know this is the newest of new sprocket assemblies because a company by the name of Bike Berry had no parts for this particular hub assembly.....I would not worry about that...within a few months that will change ..You as a average Joe simply purchasing the bike would not even need to deal with this above mention issue.Anyway....if i had to choose from the Huffy to the Chattam made by Retrospec...i would without qeustion take the Retrospec.Oh...and the colour....wow....a beautiful Mauii Blue...its an eye catcher...You will not be sorry with your purchase...Enjoy !!

Missing parts to assemble.
The bike itself is sturdy and sleek looking. However, when I went to assemble it - many parts were missing. I had to purchase the missing parts and no compensation was provided despite the missing parts that were to included.

Nice Nexus Shimano 3 speed.
Pleased with my purchase. Really like the Shimano 3 speed and the wide tires for riding it on or off road. I liked it so much I bought a couple more. Another 3 speed and a seven speed. Far better quality and larger frame then the Beach Cruisers I have seen at big box stores.

Good solid bike for price
Pretty good for the price, upgraded crank, fork, seat, pedals and kickstand straight away. The tires are barely "balloon" tires so will also upgrade to something wider. Paint is a nice flat black, but very thin. If locked up with other bikes expect a lot of scratches! This is a perfect start if you are planning to customize a bunch of parts anyway.

Gears
Don’t touch it...it will scratch. Also got the theee speeds and my first gear is too rough tonpeddle up hill! I’d say first gear is for up hill, 2nd is for street riding and 3rd if you need to power cruise
