Have you ever tried starting a small engine that has not been started in a while?
I used this to start an engine that was sitting for a year. It took a lot of cranking and honestly, I got tired of pulling that rope! I used a battery-operated Dewalt Drill purchased here on Amazon as part of a set, and it easily turned over the engine using this adapter and was an arm saver.Make sure you know how this tool works before attempting it because if you don't you could easily snap your wrist or worse. There are videos on YouTube giving samples of its use and good advice, where I learned a few things about it and some other homemade versions. There is a lot more to getting a long-term idle engine restarted, but this is a review of a particular item (Performance Tool W38137 3/8" DR Ratcheting Adapter) that saved me a lot of aggravation and sore muscles. I did get the 13hp Kohler running again. The ethanol in the fuel took its toll on the carburetor float bowl, even though the fuel line was cut off and that was the root cause of it not starting. I guess it sold a few of these tools though, so good for commerce, right?*RANT*We should all know that ethanol is the worst thing ever for engines, carburetors, and the environment. How many carburetors are ruined and thrown in the trash because of it? It takes more energy to produce ethanol than it provides. If you look up how distilled water is produced you will know it takes heat to produce ethanol from corn. It costs us all more in the long run if ethanol fuel is used to produce ethanol as an additive to fuel. Those selling non-ethanol fuel are making a killing because they don't have to pay for the ethanol being produced, yet they sell non-ethanol for more. Makes me question our society and our government and I'm not a tree hugger but I respect our environment. Use that corn to feed the starving or the cattle that produce corn-fed beef steaks. Give the corn away to cattle ranchers, it produces better meat than it does in savings to the environment or our wallets.O.K. I'm off the soapbox now.*End of RANT*

High quality and at least half the price of comparable adapters
Most of these ratcheting adapters sell for around $35+... This one? $15 (at time of purchase). Quality seems consistent with other quality adapters (honestly, probably made in the same factory). I own other tools from Performance Tool and have found them to be of good quality at a reasonable cost. This is no exception. If you're looking for a ratcheting adapter but can't justify big bucks for one, check out this one.I didn't NEED one of these, but they're nice to have in the toolbag/toolbox. You never know when one could come in handy. At the price of this, it's worth picking one up for your arsenal.

Very banged up on receipt with a lot of surface damage. Actual dents in the metal
Received this today and was extremely disappointed, Tool had multiple significant dents and dings on the ring used to set and reverse the ratchet function. Tool looks like it has been thru a war. For a 1/2 inch breaker bar accessory, this did not even survive a 3 day trip thru the mail. I have 30 year old tools that have been used often that look in better condition than what I received here. Opened it up, and literally threw it in the garbage. Not worth carrying it long enough to bust my knuckles trying to use it. Great idea, but very poor quality and execution. This is my first ever bad review of a tool but no choice as this was so poorly made and delivered.

Wtf
Bought 2 at once and they both look rough. They both function properly but look like they were dropped off a building and subsequently ran over by a semi...the anodized blue adjuster ring is scraped up and gouged on both. The packaging was fine so it wasn't damaged during transit. Good luck

DO NOT BUY!!!!!
Absolute piece of junk! Don't waste your time! The end sheared off first time I used it not even 100ft/lbs. extremely dissatisfied. Any good review is probably fake. If this seller has any pride in its product it would refund all of us who were scammed into wasting our hard earned money. DO NOT BUY!

Great product, performs as advertised
Use this to fire up small engines via a drill when the pull cord is broken. Works great!

It's a great tool for price point
I use this ratchet head on a 1/2 inch drill to start chainsaws. I needed the ratchet as when engine fires with out it the flywheel nut will come off and cause issues. It was the slimmest and price that made my decision. And it was the right one. Great tuff tool for my type of use

it started to rush on the metal part of it.
I've used it a few times and I already rush on the metal parts. It still works but Idk is just disappointing how it can get rusty easy. Not even exposed to water just used it once and stored it away a few months. and you got rust.

Nice tool, was delivered a used one.
Overall it seems to work, have not tried it under load yet. The biggest problem I have is that I have paid for a new one and received a used one based on the looks of it. Or it could have just gotten all banged up while being shipped, can tell for sure. Thus, 2 stars. Used items should not be sold as new.

Very handy device
My chain saw is difficult to start for me due to arthritis in my hands. i was able to modify the saw a bit, and use this adapter with my cordless drill set at high torque to easily crank the saw and start it. For safety reasons, i built a rack to secure the saw before starting.Solver my problem !

Great Price
Most breaker bars do not come with a ratcheting head and very happy to have found this tool for such a great price. Been looking for a while and most are 4 times the cost of the Performance tool. Just received and have completed a winter tire change over - rugged and sturdy build, works as advertised. Highly recommend this product.
