YES! We can. I know Spanish but my wife does not. This alleviates my burden of teaching her. It works well. We occasionally need to speak with a friend who is French and does not speak English well. You need the app and with my smart phone, I had a heck of a time getting past the start up windows. The reviews for the app should have warned me but I thought I could get past it.....I couldn’t so I sent the translator back......I am not tech savvy so I didn’t know what else to do. The app help desk was useless and google couldn’t answer any of my specific concerns.

I purchased this translator to help me communicate with my in-laws who are visiting from Ecuador. They only speak and understand Spanish and I can’t speak Spanish at all. This device removed this communication barrier for us and this has made their visit so much more comfortable and fun. I use it to translate my English to Spanish and they use it translate from Spanish to English. Its easy to use, reliable and makes communicating in other languages fun. I recommend this product to anyone needing to overcome the problems that communication barriers create.

I should have listened to others reviews. When you push the button to speak the device says "Disconnecting". Twice it worked. Twice! What a piece of junk. I bought this for my wife month prior to leaving for Spain thinking this would give her a chance to familiarize herself with the unit. If only I had waited until the week before I could have returned it to Amazon. Lesson learned. Keep in mind that internet connections aren't readily available when traveling abroad as this requires an internet connection. Regardless, it won't work in my home, office or any other location either for that matter. Even when standing next to the office or home wifi. Junk, Junk, Junk.

Break down language barriers and improve productivity, or just make it easier to get around time and order food, get directions, etc. This tool is super easy to use. You take it out of the box, download the language software on your phone, pair the device via bluetooth and you're ready to go. It lets you pick among many languages, and focus on 2 that you can translate to and from. There are 2 corresponding buttons on the device so it can listen for that selected language and translate it to the other very quickly. I've tried multiple languages from English and each one has worked very well. The speaker is very loud and clear. It does have a physical volume switch so you can adjust it up and down to ensure its appropriate for your situation. It charges via micro USB and the physical dimensions of it are small, about the size of an Amazon firestick. Its black and classy looking, so be confident and take this into your business meetings with clients. I don't like this product because it's useless for me at all.I can't understand what the machine saying into my language, the signal was very slow outside the house without the wifi, can't translate after I took the picture. the speech translation speed is too slow. I will return it later!

I bought this for my parent who want to use it when they travel. At first, they tried to set it up but promotly gave up before giving it to me to see if I could help. So, thats what I have been doing. I've been trying to set up this translator for the past half hour and it just doesnt want to work. Even though I have been following the directions step by step, the translator does not set up. The instructions arent very clear. It's been a waste of my time and energy so I returned it.
