Loaf Pan - Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 11-3/4 inches By Old Mountain

I was looking to purchase a cast iron bread pan that was longer than ours in the hopes it would make loaves that were not so darn tall. Turns out this pan was not any longer than our current one because they measure from handle to handle rather than the insides of the pan, so that left us disappointed. We will not be keeping it. If it had been the actual size we wanted, it would be all good. We love cast iron and this pan has no other issues with it.

This is a very nice addition to my arsenal.You have to be familiar with cast iron to get these to perform how you need. They're not stick if properly seasoned. They're easy to clean if properly seasoned. They will outlive you, your kids, and grandkids if properly cared for.

The casting is VERY ROUGH, should have been smoothed with ceramic beads/steel shot…that’s cheaper then grinding/machining or sanding!!!

I think I am going to really like this. I wish it did not have such large pores. I would look for cast iron with a smoother, less porous inside. Even though it comes pre-seasoned, you will need to season this over and over again to make it non-stick.

I have successfully used these pans to make sourdough bread and regular bread recipes. I butter the pans and the loaves come out clean and evenly cooked in 45 minutes. They make a standard size loaf. I was unable to find them locally, as they no longer seems to sell them in Vancouver or Victoria BC, but they were shipped quickly at a reasonable price for the weight (cast iron). If you like to bake then these environmentally friendly, health wise, pans are excellent. They also will be good in an earth oven.

I just got this. It’s a very nice pan, but smaller than I thought it was. This seems no bigger than a regular size loaf pan that you buy in the store. But I need this one cos I need to use it for high heat oven temperatures for making bread. Highly recommend!

It bakes bread very evenly and makes a perfect loaf. Cleans up with great with water.

Bread came out easily! Going to try these with meatloaf next
