Kind of a scam, read my review
My 9yo son was VERY excited about getting to use it. Unfortunately all the "mission launches" are very late at night or early the next morning. Who lets their kids stay up until midnight or 2am to use it? We had 2 launch codes for before 10pmEST. We almost an hour for them to launch. One was "scrubbed" because the observatory was offline. Another 18 minutes waiting for the next and even though I had already clicked the "load" button 18 minutes ago, it waited until the end of the countdown to notify us that we missed the launch because we hadn't disabled our pop up blocker. We started out with 10 launch codes and it is obvious they have a pattern. It was easy to guess a few more. I also did a search for "free Slooh codes" and found more. Many of the codes give you the same missions as the old codes. They want you to buy multiple packs to get new codes. I think that is a bit a of scam if they are giving you the same old missions. It is a great idea but not the easiest to use especially for younger children.Since none of the reviews I read online mentioned any of these issues and a few I read were copied word for word (that includes the one here), I have to believe the reviews and blogs are faked. Its fun for a kid but misleading and not very easy to use.Update: We have had this for 2 months and not been able to get a single mission to work. We always have an issue of something being offline, missions getting scrubbed or the website not working properly.

Love it.
This is real astronomy - which means that sometimes the weather does not cooperate on the night you want it to be clear, but eventually clear skies bless the viewer. I've been using this for 10 years and love it. This is for the beginner and the serious citizen scientist.

Sound fun -- if the telescopes are ever on-line!
Granny bought this as a gift for my 9 year old son about a week ago. He was very excited about getting started, but so far we have not been able to use a single mission code. The Chile telescope has been off-line for over a week due to "technical difficulties" (not weather related) and the times for the Canary Islands scope are never convenient given the school day or bedtime or constant weather holds. We did watch the live, free transit of Venus, but that's it. Two telescopes aren't really enough especially if one of them is always down. Good concept, needs more telescopes and better reliability.
