My old floor drain cover in my basement was rusty and half corroded away. This replacement was a perfect fit and is heavy - just dropped it in and it's good to go. I could not find this type of drain cover at any of my local stores, including Home Depot. The red plug in my photo is a replacement cleanup plug that I also purchase her on Amazon. I had to get past the smell (think very intense magic marker smell) because these drain covers are perfect. Both of the drain covers in our garage had rusted to the point of dust. It got so bad that one side of the garage filled with about 2 inches of water before we realized that the rust from the cover had clogged up the holes in the cover and clogged the drain as well. So, I came to my trusty amazon to look for new covers quick and of course within a couple of days I had these at my doorstep.As I said, there is a strong smell but I should state that I am particularly sensitive to smells so it might not bother you. Beyond the smell though you get a heavy cast iron cover for your drain. Not much more to say about it. This is as thick and substantial as the original cover. Make sure you measure the diameter of your drain so you can get the best size for your needs. I was going to just order the 7 inch covers because that seemed about right. But the nuanced 6 5/8ths is actually the correct fit. The 7 inch cover would not have fit.BOTTOM LINE: If you need to replace your drain covers this will absolutely do the job

Strainer in our garage floor was rusted out. This one fits perfectly and is coated in durable black coating that should allow it to last a very long time. It looks solid and manly in the garage.
