This Nichrome wire, Type 60, is used together with an equal length Type 80 Nichrome wire, wound up tightly with an electric drill, the bitter ends held tightly with a pliers.This assembly is to fabricate semi-Low Q Parasitic Chokes for attachment to anodes of vacuum tubes in transmitters and amplifiers subject to oscillation at VHF frequencies and above. Paralleled with flame-proof thin-metal Panasonic 100 ohm, 3-watt resistors the U-shaped filter with a 1-inch loop or a 3/4" by 4-turn helix, next to but not around the resistors, will itself heat up considerably if there is an occasion to.Operation of the amplifier or transmitter in near-VHF frequencies like 25 to 55 Megahertz will see the Nichrome surface temperature rising, but the inherent qualities of the Type 60 tightly wound up with the Type 80 will impart some amount of physical strength top the loop as well as some additional ampacity.The materials need to be soldered with Zinc-Chloride liquid flux applied to high-content silver solder.

The nichrome wire is great for making wood burning tips. The company does not sell all gages on Amazon and I had to buy some from the same company on Ebay.
