Bacnet For Field Technicians

This was for my hubby who does ddc control work. He said it taught him a few things, but most he already new because he has been in the field several years.

Too simple, I thought it would be more advanced examples and suggestions than it actually was. I love the software tools Chipkin provides us with but this book was far to low level.

I like the size and form factor of this guide. It's not a "Learn All About" book, but it has enough information that it could be. It is truly what it says that it is, a field guide.I would recommend it to technical people who need to repair, maintain, or even sell BACnet devices and products.

An interesting read... Beginner friendly

I've used chipkin's guides and products for building automation systems over the past 5 years;Peter is a great contributor to the BACnet community and available personally for any questions you have on the topics contained in the guide.The guide explains the different physical architectures that BACnet supports and demystifies the concepts for connected various building systems together i.e. to link a Fire Alarm Control Panel to an HVAC system.It's a plain language guide that gives you the background you need to begin your installation/project. The price is much less expensive than other books on the subject which means you have a low cost tutorial on a topic that you might pay thousands of dollars for in a more formal classroom setting.

This is a great introduction to BACnet. Something to be noted is that this is currently free on the author's website.
