ABC Bible Verse Book (Board Book)

We are using this as a weekly memory verse for kindergarten home school. My son enjoys the illustrations that go with each verse, and likes to discuss how they relate to the verse. Only critique...we are up to H, and I'm a little annoyed that the H verse is Honor your father and your mother... children of the age to use this book are generally also learning letter sounds, and rely on the sound the letter makes to help them remember how to start the verse, so using a word that starts with a silent letter was an odd choice.

I like this book better than the more popular ABC Bible verses book by Hunt. This one is a board book that is perfect for toddlers. I purchased both books but my 2 & 3 year old like this one much better. You will be surprised how easily they can remember verses here if you go over one or two consistently for a whole week. I purchased this along with Steve Green's Hide 'Em in Your Heart, vol I CD and they are perfect together. They don't match in all verses, but the ones that do are wonderful ways to commit the words to memory! Another plus about this book is the opportunity to improve & hone their memory, too. It is also a great aid in homeschooling lessons as well as pointing out specific situations when these verses apply to their very real toddler experiences. Buy more than one as you will want to share this with other parents of small children.

This ABC bible contains a verse for every letter of the alphabet. My daughter (2 years old) and I both have it memorized. "A" as for me and my house we will serve the Lord, "B" be ye kind one to another, "C" children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.It also has images that explain or model the verse. My daughter loves looking at the pictures. For example "K" (Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies) shows a boy with a baseball bat and a broken window talking to the owner of the home while his friends are running away in the distance. Another example is "F" (Fear not for I am with thee) shows a child in a doctors office.Pretty sturdy boardbook. Ours is showing quite a bit of wear, but we are not easy on it.

I bought this for my niece with Down syndrome (age 6) because she's learning the alphabet. The illustrations are like the cover art: colorful, bright, and not too busy. The bible verses in this book were well-selected for the recommended age group (6 and under). They are a good combination of Old and New Testament with concepts that children can understand, like: (C)hildren obey your parents... (K)eep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies... (W)hen I am afraid, I will trust in You. Some verses require more explanation, like (Q)uench not the Spirit, but that's where parents can come in with guidance. I would prefer that all verses be in one translation like NKJV, but they are a combo of KJV, NASB, and NIV. My main complaint, however, is not with the product but with the packaging. The book came with scratches on the cover and damage to the spine/cover edges because it was not wrapped separately, just thrown into a box with my other orders from Amazon.

Great little book for children...giving them a taste of God's Word in their simple language. Love this!

I absolutely love this book! It was delivered quickly, and it works so perfectly for homeschooling my 5 year old daughter. It is colorful, and works well as her curriculum for writing, reading and art. We have a letter of the week that we use in many of our activities...so she gets to write the verse, draw a picture about the verse, and memorize the verse! It is working so perfectly for us. The book is also easy to hold and work with because of its size. I highly recommend this book for young and elementary aged children.

I purchased this because of the high reviews on Amazon. The more I've purchased, the more I think the reviews are rigged. It's an OK book. Just looks a little 'cheap.' Something you could get at the dollar store-- for a dollar. Not an almost $10 book. I promise to write honest reviews, to help fellow moms like me, looking for great books. Sadly, this one is lacking a bit. Not terrible, just not worth $10.

Nice selection of verses and cute pictures. The verses usually start with the letter of the alphabet that they are representing, which is nice, as some just use a word within the verse.
