Inappropriate format for young toddlers
I bought this for a toddler I know. I asked her mom about it. She told me that if they plan to use different words to interest the children who do not know the original story, "it would be nice if they had a page in the back giving facts of the author," mother of 7 children.I was hesitant to give this book to a toddler as the thick pages indicate toddler but so many words on a page are more appropriate for a preschool to 2nd grade child. The ideas in this book are great and tale is great but the format does not seem appropriate to this age group.

Historically Fun
This book is cute for children and information for adults...and fun for all! I’m an English major mama, so this was a must for me (and a gift I send to all my friends’ children!)

A truly "punny" book to read to little ones and pun fun for the older folks
This is my 2nd review of a "Wild Bios" kids board books. This one is sort of a "spoof" about William Shakespeare and it is riddled with pun after pun for a hilarious read. Granted, the little kiddies won't grasp the puns, but Mom and Dad will and that makes for an enjoyable story time for the little ones. After all, when everyone is having fun it is a grand time altogether. As the title indicates "Sheepspeare (i.e. Shakespeare) is a woolly sheep or actually a ram. And he is one of Lord Chamberlamb's (i.e. Lord Chamberland's) Men who act and build the theater. The rams play the part of the ewes (i.e. men play the roles of the women) in the plays. And so the puns go on and on and on throughout the book. The illustrations are lots of fun with details and colors that grab one's attention adding to the fun story. But don't forget, this is about a real person and especially that it is about a really famous person - William Shakespeare. While young children rarely comprehend the history of historical entities and the role they play in shaping our world, it is always good to lay the ground work or plant seeds of information that sprout into fruition and further knowledge and study later in their developing years. Perhaps families can put on their own versions of the Real Shakespeare's works and tweak them a bit as has been done in "Wild Bios: William Sheepspeare."I received a complimentary copy to facilitate this review. Opinions are mine, alone and are freely given.

Fun for both adults and little ones!
I received this board book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own."To baa or not to baa..."We return to Wild Bios 'animalistic introductions to history's greatest figures' in William Sheepspeare, a fun and humorous board book that introduces your little ones to the great "Baa-rd" of Avon. We've read one other Wild Bios book (Frida Catlo) and love how this series takes real people from history and explains their lives with cute and quirky animal puns and lots of themed wordplay. You're sure to get some laughs when "Hamlet" becomes "Lamblet" and "All's Well That Ends Well" becomes "All's Wool That Ends Wool".The illustrations are super cute and feature many different animals in era-appropriate clothing. These adorable Wild Bios board books are the perfect introduction to historical figures for little listeners and are a lot of fun for parents and others to read out loud as well!

What is a playwrite?
William Sheepspeare was a poet and playwright. He moved to London to become an actor. He wrote plenty of tragedies and even some romantic sonnets. As a writer, he invented thousands of new words. His fame has made his works the most performed and studied in history. This sturdy board book, perfect for toddlers, shares the story of the famous writer and playwright William Shakespeare. Toddlers will learn about his life in this cute book featuring playful animals. Young readers will also learn, eye-hand coordination, colors, words and so much more.
