Best Oil I've ever used hands down!
No let me start out by saying I'm a car enthusiast by heart, I build cars to have not only drive back and forth to work but to take to the track on the weekends. Most of my life of cars I've become quite familiar and partial to 350 Chevy Small Blocks, Chevy LSX's, and 4.6L 36V Dual Cam Fords. I've run super chargers (top mount, twin screw, and centrifugal) along with my fair share of Turbo Chargers.I've more recently become such of a fan of European and Imports due to high revving 4-cylinders that not only make smart power but produce good daily drive-able characteristics (including great gas mileage). My current vehicle that I daily and track is my Lotus Elise, it uses a Toyota sourced 1.8L 2ZZ-GE (same as the Celica GT) which is high strung, high revving motor. Most important factor to a motor that constantly sees revs up to 8700rpm daily is excellent lubrication to fight friction along with heat. I can say as always with my past motors Royal Purple lives up to the hype with it's excellent Synerlec additive that helps coat and protect engine components at load, speed, and high temps. From all my engines I've pulled down valve covers and intakes I can attest to the claims, all my cams, rollers, and bearing always look smooth and clean (no noticeable wear I can pick with my finger nail). They may not list all the bogus standards that mean absolutely nothing when it comes down to it (think about all the marketing standards on what constitutes synthetic blend?) they get everything right with there formula. Since acquiring this car and changing to Royal Purple at 36,000 miles I've noticed over the past 20,000 miles that the motor has become more responsive and smoother through the rpms. I noticed my track buddy with his Lotus Exige (supercharged) commented on how smooth and responsive the motor felt when he drove a few laps in my car, he was surprised for a stock N/A motor with over 50,000 miles! I made a believer out of him that day!Good reading material to help those who can't fathom the missing bogus standards [...]

Royal Purple Synthetic motor oil
This is an area that I am very familiar with as I previously distributed synthetic oil. During this period I befriended one of the leading scientists who created and formulated synthetic oils. We spent a lot of time together and I often accompanied him to several industry seminars. I received quite an education about oil.Briefly synthetic oil does everything your regular motor does, only it does it better. Plus Royal Purple uses a different base stock (ester) then regular and most other synthetic oils--it clings naturally to metal. thus reducing dry starts (a leading cause of engine wear), reduces friction; has a higher film strength; reaches operating temperature quicker; runs cooler and has a greater resistance to high temperature breakdown;has a high solvency action that will clean the inside of your engine; it has a lower freezing point point, ie. it will not thicken up in the coldest of climates, and finally it will increase your HP and mpg. In my opinion Royal Purple is the best synthetic oil on the market today. Is there a downside? Yes it is expensive and hard on valve seals. If you have an older car with a lot of miles on it (about 60,000 or more) the seals and rings may be filled up with engine deposits and the oil may flush them out, leaving you with an oil burner. We had this problem on my friends Saturn. The oil made a big difference in performance and mpg, but it began to burn oil. So on the next change we dumped it and replaced it with Mobil ! and Lucas Synthetic Oil Stabilizer and the oil consumption ceased. It was a better performance then regular oil but not as good as the Royal Purple. Also suggest you use Royal Purple transmission oil, it does make a difference.Don F Los Angeles

Great Stuff
I am now on the second interval of using 5W-40 oil in my wife's 2003 VW Passat 1.8T. The engine has almost 150,000 miles on it, and I have been running quality synthetics through it since I have owned the car for the past 90,000 miles. The engine feels incredibly smooth running this oil even at high RPMs. When I drained the oil after the first interval using it, the oil came out looking really good and thick. I am planning on pushing the interval to 10,000 miles this time, but I don't know if I will be able to hold off for that long or not. Regardless, I still feel like I am getting good value for my dollar. If there are people reading this running the 1.8T, make sure you are getting the bigger oil filter for the extra capacity on the longer intervals. The only issue that I have been seeing is that my car seems to be burning some oil, but the mileage is getting up there so maybe that has something to do with it. I am now fully hooked on this oil.

The Best
5W40 is difficult to find in stores, so I have to always order it online. This is the only oil I will put in my tuned and modified WRX. It's amazing stuff and in my opinion worth every penny.

Solid Performance
Love it! It's perfect for my 2013 Dodge Dart Limited with the 1.4l turbo. I was worried that Amazon's picture did show it to be a European Formula, but the specs made it clear. Only just got the car with 63000 miles on it, but the oil change I did feels like my engine is running smoother. Little pricey and I wish Amazon offered the 5qt jug, but oh well. Will be coming back for more when the time comes.
