The Platinum Collection

My listening habits in the 90s got just a little lost. It's all down to personal opinion I suppose, but as far as I could see at the time, good music largely had become a thing of the past. Hence I missed out on EBTG. And I only checked them out recently on Youtube as I enjoy Tracy Thorn's writing for The New Statesman! Not a logical move, but it brought a very worthwhile result. This album is just so easy. And for that reason I'd recommend it to anyone who just wants something mellow in their collection. You will certainly want to talk about it in positive terms!

Superb singer and brilliant musical arrangements, but the subject matter is always relationships, love life (or maybe lack of), etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. so it gets monotonous after a while, not an uncommon problem with female singers.Her rendition of "You only Live Twice" from the Bond film was very lively by contrast. Pity more of the songs weren't like that.

Everything but the Girl was recommended to me. I just loved it. Great selection.

Wonderful voice allied to some great tracks a decent buy

Every track is superb. I did not realise how talented this band is. I will probably buy further albums now.

Worth buying if only for the track 'Only Living Boy In New York'Great band - very under rated. A steal at this price.

What can i say about a fabulous duo, everything i expected from every thing but the girl top top songs,and a well put together compilation

Von Everything but the girl habe ich durch "Missing" erstmalig gehört. Aber auch tolle andere Stücke befinden sich drauf. Aber einige Stücke sind auch ein bisschen eintönig.

Eine super Stimme, gefühlvolle bis funkige Stücke, toller Sound. Da kann man nur eine absolute Kaufempfehlung aussprechen.Anhören und sich wohlfühlen......ECHT !!!

Warum ich erst durch Zufall auf diese geniale Gruppe gestossen bin, ist mir ein Rätsel. Mit so einer Stimme und tollen Liedern sowie bravourösen Coverversionen muss man doch ein Superstar sein und ständig im Radio rauf und runtergespielt werden.Dass das nicht so ist finde ich unverständlich. Die Stimme von Tracy Thorn kann mann sich einfach so vorstellen: Das Beste aus den Stimmen von Shakira und Anni Lennox dazu noch unbeschreiblich viel Gefühl, dass einem die Gänsehaut nicht mehr wegzukriegen ist.So genug geschwärmt! Werde mir sofort alles besorgen, was an EBTG zu haben ist.

Eigentlich liebe ich Easy Listening Musik.Ich habe ein Album erwartet bei dem ich schön Abschalten undnebenbei der Musik ein wenig lauschen kann. Ich finde das kannman aber hier nicht so gut, es klingt sehr schnell eintönig.Ich habe die CD wieder verkauft !Schade.

One of my favorite bands. Allot of their great songs

This CD was bought as a gift, but what I heard was great. This duo has very smooth sound. I am sorry that they haven't done anything lately, and that they weren't more popular in the US. Tracy Thorne has an incredible voice. We should hear more from them.

I lucked out with this purchase. It has ver y Good songs performed with Heartfelt Abandon.

Terrific CD by Everything But The Girl. Great compilation of their works.

I had some of these songs already via other compilations, but there were some new additions that I purchased this album for. Good starter album for anyone who is just discovering their work.

This is a classic album. Songs are great and it's a lot of fun! Would recommend to anyone who was around in the early 90's!!

I love their one hit song, but the other songs aren't bad either. She has a very distinctive voice and I like to listen to their music
