Beautiful, heirloom stocking!
As you can see, I haven’t finished putting this together, but thought I’d share what I have so far. I loved the pattern, but did make several adjustments. I added three little birds at the bottom because I felt it was a bit blank down there. I took out the snow on the deer and fox and I like that more vibrant look better. I used mill hill beads on the snowman’s buttons and slimmed down the fox’s front paws, which looked unusually large, by one row of stitches. I filled in all the white with white thread I already had-I think this looks better and gives it a more finished look. I’ve been stitching for 50 years and this took me 4 months. My grandsons name is Fox, as you can see, so this was a no brainer. He loves it. I’m waiting till I finish another and then I’ll complete them at the same time-that’s the part I do not like!! I had enough floss but you can’t be ripping out stitches and running your thread all over in the back because with a couple colors it was a little too close!

Cute but smaller than I anticipated.
I normally do cross stitch and found needlepoint to be okay. The stamped on pattern wasn’t the easiest thing to get used to. I found the stamped on pattern colors to be fuzzy in certain areas, for my aged eyes. Also, I still can’t figure out how to blend the stitches, especially when it will have a back stitched outline. The patterns are cute as a button. The finished stockings are quite a bit smaller than I wanted. Santa couldn’t put much into them. I selected my own backs, hanging loop and put in liners. The felt was adequate but I did not feel it would stand the test of time. My sons cross stitch stockings are 30+ years old, much larger and still look fabulous. Picture shows size differences.I was able to complete the penguin stocking in less than 3 weeks. It felt like I was at it 24/7 but I had a pre-Thanksgiving deadline line to allow time for it to be sewn into a stocking before Xmas.I would use this brand again. I will try to enlarge the next one on my own and use my same modifications to finish it.One other thing, you can’t run to the store to match their thread. You must call them to get additional thread. I know this because I needed more of a blue/black color for back stitching and couldn’t find it.

Fun kit
I purchased this kit to make a stocking for a friend’s daughter. It’s a fairly simple pattern and has been fun to make.

Great Pattern But Short on Floss!
This is a wonderful design, and I was pleased with the finished project. However, Dimensions quality of the floss has slipped. I also found (in spite of being a cross-stitcher with 30+ years of experience) this is the second time I had to purchase a second kit to finish the project. There simply wasn’t time to write the company to obtain the floss. Dimensions! Please change the amount of floss.

Stunningly beautiful, NOT for beginners
I’m an avid stitcher with over 50years experience.... this is the most challenging piece I’ve ever completed. It’s beautiful... it will pluck your patience and test your determination. It’s 18count, over 47K stitches, and +500 hours of time to complete. Excellent details. Sofa design is a bit dated (design is from the ‘80s/90s). Because you’re stitching on blank canvas, rather than stamp printed, I used a needlepoint stitch technique to fill in sofa, easy adjustment. My daughter-in-law wanted a handmade Cross Stitch stocking to accompany my son’s childhood stocking. (I stitched his in 1986). It was a challenge to find a stocking pattern of similar size. What’s popular to find now are much larger hand painted Needlepoint canvas. I also needed toe to face opposite direction. Easy solution- used my iPad to photograph the stitch chart and then flipped for mirror reverse image. Using iPad photo was also an awesome tool to enlarge chart details and use highlighter to track stitch rowBecause kit is older, be gentle when pulling the threads through canvas. Be VERY thrifty with your thread clippings. If if it’s over 3”, save it. You’ll need it.If you’re willing to commit the time, it’s well worth the effort!

I Love It!
I created this stocking for my son's fiancee, as she loves penguins. The only thing I didn't like about it was the backing provided. Cheap and cheesy looking. I replaced it with dark blue crushed velour (which some might also find cheap and cheesy looking, but I love it) and I fully lined the stocking, as well. I sewed on fake fur, rather than stitch the white border and pompom on the penguin's hat, added a sprig of "holly" to the snowman's hat and "Bedazzled" stars on his scarf to give it a bit of zip. I also used white crochet thread with silver running through it for the snowman, rather than using plain, white embroidery floss, to give it a bit of dimension and sparkle. The name was done in embroidery stitches. I didn't like the busyness of the background, so I stuck with one solid color because I also thought this would appeal to Gina more. I always personalize what I create, and many of my projects are done "from scratch" without benefit of stamping. This was a particularly fun one to do!

Not enough thread and they dont send out extra
It was good to do. But...nowhere near enough threads, and I didnt have to.oull any out either, so not enough from the start. All other kits form different manufacturer state that they will send extra thread if required. Instructions state to contact them if run out if thread as they are their own and others dont match. I contacted them and they sent me a chart with DMC and Anchor comparables!! Not at all.impressed. especially as one was nowhere near a match and it's in a really obvious place, and also 2 different colours have the same comparable number yet nothing alike. The person I gave it to was none the wiser but I was and very disappointed.

Lovely good quality kit
I've used dimensions kits before and they are always lovely quality. This kit has lots of half cross stitches (all the blue background and shading is half stitch) so it builds up quickly. As I want to make a useable stocking rather than just a decorative piece I line mine and use a fabric backing rather than the felt provided but that is an easy substitution to do once your kit is sewn and that is orsonal choice on my part rather than a criticism. I would recommend dimensions kits as they use good quality threads and fabric as well as having detailed clear instructions.

Great kit
This is a lovely kit for an experienced stitcher. The chart is clear and in different colours with the key split into sections. The threads are presorted on cards with both the shade number and a printed square of the colour. There is a variety of stitches used with varying numbers of threads. Everything you need to complete the stocking is supplied as well as an alphabet to personalise it. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 as the felt to finish the stocking could be thicker but still a great buy

Simple kit for beginner.
Stockings simple to make, would suit novice sewer or older child. Nice patterns on felt and lots of thread in pack. Unfortunately the pack I received was missing 5 of the back pieces for the stockings but I made them from felt I already had. Would have been a real problem if you didn't have spare felt of your own. A bit smaller than I had hoped but maybe I didn't check sizes before I bought this.

I loved the design the only down side was the Aida was so stiff which made me fingers very painful.
