unforgettably inviting
What an unforgettable tale. Rhoades combines the Old West with modernity and throws in some Wolvers to balance it all out. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that the world of the Wolvers branches out a little bit with this one while remaining true to its roots. She takes the concept of Wolvers that we’ve come to love and turns it on its head, giving her readers a unique experience that, although following suit from the rest of the series, definitely stands out in the best of ways. Mystery and suspense combine with underhanded city officials to make this a story that you won’t be able to put down. The characters in this novel make the enthralling story even more captivating. I won’t say too much or it’ll ruin the surprise but the main characters are right up there with my all-time favourite characters from Rhoades. Everyone in this novel is so well and naturally developed that they aren’t simply believable; they become real for the reader. The clash of time periods and ways of life, without the necessity of time travel, makes for some interesting moments as well. And perhaps we will get to revisit some of these characters again in the future. One can definitely hope so anyways.Overall this was a phenomenal novel that can be read as part of Rhoades’ Wolvers series or as a standalone. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with some supernatural on the side. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Wolver,s Gold
I enjoyed this author's version of a wolf pack living in the modern day but with old western values. it was fun to read the hero and heroines banter about language and proper behavior. I laughed often. This book was a western wolf pack story with some greedy bad guys, a hunk of a sheriff, a prim a proper heroine and many sidekicks to round out the story.I would not mind reading more about Gold Gulch if the author continued this book as a series.

I love this shifter series!! Can't wait for the next book!!!
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!!The cover is yummy :) I love the cowboy and the moon and the wolf in the background :) This cover would definitely grab my attention :)Okay this story was a western twist on the fabulous Wolver series. This story is very action packed, and you learned some new things about this fabulous world. I loved it all and especially the feisty Rachel who is sort of finding her way back to who she is and what a pack should really be. Challenger is sexy and made me laugh a lot. I loved when he was baiting Rachel.I can’t wait to see where this series goes next because there are so many awesome communities and lots of possibilities for future stories to share with us. Jackie did an awesome job as always with her details and descriptions. You feel like you are in the story with the characters. She really is an awesome writer :) My mom loves her work too! I’m hoping I don’t have to wait too long for the next book :)I highly recommend this series to all those shifter lovers out there :) You will thoroughly enjoy this world :)

Greed is a powerful thing
Living in Gold Gulch, where daily life is based on the 1800s has become a mundane existence for Rachel. While tourists come to the town to experience the ways of a time long gone, it's the town's folk especially the women who seem to be so out of sorts lately. Rachel is the daughter of the town's hotel owner and she works her fingers to the bone. She refuses to mate just to become the property of another wolver. That is until the new sheriff comes to town.Challenger McCall is on a mission, to find out the truth about the high rates of deaths among wolvers within the Gold Gulch pack. Sent there by Eugene Begley to uphold Primal Law he doesn't expect to find his mate. But when he takes one look at Rachel taking a broom to a rude male wolver he is hooked. Will the two be able to mate? Or will the mysterious deaths and missing pack money be their down fall? And where is the gold of legend?

Another winner!!!
This newest release from Jackie is just as riveting as her others. She consistently produces stellar literature and is at the top of my list of favorite authors.I'm tempted to gush and tell you all about the story since I just finished it and I'm still caught up in the feelings it evoked. However, the blurb will do that fine. Trust me, it's a good one.I will say that a really good book needs a certain mixture of elements to qualify as excellent. Rather like a recipe. Some might disagree on the amounts of gut wrenching angst or the level of romance and opinions are each our own. Jackie writes her tales with just the right amount of everything that I find necessary to satisfy me. There is drama, conflict, humor, and much more. The mysteries are plausible even though we're dealing with shifters. It feels like real life people inhabit these tales.I could go on and on but why waste your time reading what I say? Read the book ( and all her others too). You will be glad you did.

Jackie's books never fail me!!
I love the Wolver Series and this book was unique within the series itself, and to me every bit as engrossing and engaging as the others in the series. I love that we hear a little more of Eugene. This book is set in a Victorian Western re-enactment town in America. There is something definitely wrong in the pack and Eugene sends in 'an investigator' to uncover what is going on. Challenger is fun, mischievous and very modern, struggling a little with Victorian Etiquette. Rachel (Red to Challenger) is the daughter of the town's B & B type hotel owner. Totally use to living within the confines of the restrictive and male dominated Victorian West. They are wonderful together and they grow both as a couple and individually. There are a few twists, some tears and some surprises, a couple of great chuckles. I think that if you like shifter novels, a little history, sweet and real love scenes you will enjoy this wonderful book from Jacqueline Rhoades. Can't wait for the next in the series, hoping it might be John Washington's Story....

Surprised and Pleased
I have read many of Ms Rhoades books and found them to be an enjoyable read. I was pleasantly surprised with this book. There is good development, well rounded characters and amusing dialogue. All in all, definitely a book that I will read again and an author that I will continue to follow. Congrats Ms Rhoades, you've got a good one on your hands :p

Grrrrreat wolver's book
You will often hear me saying Jacqueline Rhoades is my favourite author. And she certainly hasn't disappointed me this time.Although the Wolver's books is a series you could happily read this book on its own.Gold Gulch is a tourist attraction but a living town who still live the old ways (with only a few concessions). It's like living in the Wild West, with gun slingers and corsets and all. It's great fun, and there's plenty of sexy scenes.I love Miss Kincaid, and how her character develops.Definitely worth a read.

another hit
Really like this author and thought this was a nice follow on in her wolver series.Prices are still very reasonable and you definitely get your moneys worth. I like her writing style and it reads well. She is now pretty much an auto buy for me. You can read it as a standalone but better to read the whole series.

Another great book
Once again Jacqueline Rhoades does not disappoint. The main characters captured me and I found it impossible to put the book down. I have read all the books in the series as well as the guardian series. I highly recommend them all.
