i had high hopes for this but it's not fit for purpose. It's a little fiddling getting it to connect to your phone but nce done it has picked up my own cats microchips however the big problem is when you are trying to deala; bigger animals like dogs because I tried on a friends two dogs and it couldn't locate their microchip even though we know they both have them.b; because you are pairing this to your phone (yes even though it's bluetooth) you have to be handling two items sensor and phone to confirm you are still connected and to see when the sensor picks up the microchip (if it even does that).You are likely going to be using a microchip scanner when dealing with animals you do not know so they are rarely going to just sit still whilst you try and scan so for that reason this scanner is not fit for purpose and I'd recommend just bypass this scanner because like me you'll end up buying another scanner after buying this one.

It took me a little while to figure out how it worked. I felt the instruction manual left out a few things that may seem obvious-like the need for a battery and where the on button is located on the scanner, but it could be helpful to mention these. I knew about the battery from reading the Amazon page. Found the button by chance.Once I got it working it was good-it found a microchip right away. A lucky first try because it took a little longer when I tried again. It did what I wanted in terms of determining if a cat had an owner. I was a little worried about the privacy issues in the app-some personal info passed to a fellow petscanner if they scan your microchip and vice versa I think. (I think it was name /phone number. Things like that). Good for reuniting pet owners but a little scary too.

Excellent value scanner for occasional use. Definitely works, although some of our animals chips took a bit of finding, compared with the “professional” scanners used by vets, etc.

Ich habe den Scanner auf mehreren iOS Geräten und einen Android Gerät ausprobiert.Gekauft habe ich das Gerät weil mir eine Katze zugelaufen ist und ich wissen wollte ob die jemanden gehört.Bei dieser Katze hat der Scanner keinen Chip finden können.Um sicher zu gehen bin ich zu verwanden die Haustiere haben gefahren u.a einen Hund (in Österreich besteht bei Hunden Meldepflicht inklusive Chip) um das Gerät auf seine Zuverlässigkeit zu testen.Bei keinen einzigen Tier egal ob unter iOS oder Android hat das Gerät angeschlagen.Da ich mittlerweile weiß das es verschiedene Chips in verschiedenen Geräten gibt vermute ich das dieses Gerät aus England gar keine Chips aus Österreich erkennen kann.Ich wollte das Gerät zurück schicken da hier bei uns nicht brauchbar.Ich bekam vom Verkäufer auch das o.k dazu das Gerät zurück schicken zu können.Leider ist das in der Praxis kaum Zielführend das Gerät habe ich um knapp 23€ gekauft das Porto nach GB würde mir mit 10€ zu buche schlagen mittlerweile muss man dazu auch ein Zollformular ausfüllen da GB nicht mehr in der Eu ist.Somit kann man eventuell noch mit einer Forderung des Zolles auch noch rechnen.Ich hab mich jetzt dazu entschieden dieses für mich wertlose Gerät zu behalten und in meine Schublade für Elektrogeräte zu legen.
