Feather Double Edge Razor Blades 30 Ct

Ordered and these are may past regular blade. I will update if any issue on arrival... If you've got a great new and so typically mild or milder razor then you are acclimating (subset to what you know) and to your new safety *RANGE* of stubble leaving closeness control angles, that's now newly afforded to you, on newer, flatter shaving ways. It's fun; but your picking all manner of (inexpensive) stuff to hopefully SET your prep and system (read everything and watch good videos) so you'll want to get to a point and not change stuff RIGHT NOW; but the blade. This brings you to the sharpest Feather blade, among many. I'd say it's dead wrong to think of a Feather as the most expensive one; because we're talking about 27 cent and most guys get at least 4 shaves. Yeah, you can get more and will, if you do it all right and put alcohol on it, so it doesn't rust when you are done. However: Don't see how long one can last at this stage1. It will throw you into bad techniques even worse and bite you on a newly opened blade. You should already know, some peoples skin just scrapes extremely easy and can't use these; but you should also know you're probably doing it wrong and that's the most likely reason. Unless you already have a known, really extreme and delicate skin issue. But to the point: IF and only IF you STILL can't get at your stubble enough (maybe older, and maybe Grey, or simply beard from hell), in two passes or less (most or ABOUT 90% in the first pass is ideal arguably; because that's a HUGE amount gentler and NOT even slower than "one" buffing pass) and the third pass is then optional and little more than a touch up *AND* if you're "digging", pressing-in, swooping, raking the razor into bad angles, to basically a similar friction inducing cartridge-like shaving action(s) you're doing it all wrong, and I have a SOLUTION! Before you buy a closer cutting razor, you can keep with your testing and just shim it to increase the gap and so the razor safety range. (cut the shinny part off of used blades with scissors, use one or two) WARNING: You WILL have CHANGE and go LIGHTER and STOP raking, than you have trained yourself th wrong way! You'll get nicked if you do not realize this is counter intuitive, that's all. You might survive it. :) You SHOULD really leave a (tiniest) bit of stubble your first week (of any changes) and not lust for it THEN. Shave for no redness or any pain (that stuff is VISUAL and can set you back a day healing), not for stubble gone-ness! That will happen. It will happen and it can be done as fast as 2 minutes! That takes experience(2 weeks or 1 month); but it's not like we don't do this all the freaking time, you know? This is not a 1 day thing and if you say BS, you will learn and it will take a few days longer. You will not die and Feathers will NOT kill you. LOL. Just don't loose respect for anything sharp, even after you used it and are past this and know that. Well meaning folks warn about Feathers, simply because you can not shave like plow cartridges with them. That's a really good thing; TOUGH dense beard guys can get the stubble off, just by letting the weight of the razor head basically do all the work. What that actually means is the nicest cutting Feather (even on grown-out and dense beards or those areas) when shimmed, now does not scrape your skin off your face *and* also requires less passes and/or buffing, so way less time and friction. Yes Virgina there is a Santa Claus, for tough guys!!! The secret was the blade and razor gap customized for you (and all that other stuff absolutely matters. Do it all correctly.) So now you're only week or two from really getting the PERFECT SHAVE they said was impossible and with the stubble off EFFICIENTLY *and* doing it with ZERO kinds of irritations. No more razor bumps. No burn. No acne either. No nicks, cuts or even a weeper once you're setup. NO REDNESS. Smoother skin, noticeably. This, tough guys way, is training wheels-up however, and only after a week or better practice (not a big deal, just real patience for one time only; but many fall away just for that!). What that really means is you are not two years old. Those one-size-fits-all cartridges can never do this, and you can go closer on your dense spots, that can take it and use great self-control, cutting less on trouble spots; that can't take it (like below the jawline) on the same face/shave. You may not believe we are really able to get this close and that's why custom levels are required. This is DE wet shaving and nothing is better. Straight is slower. Electrics best takes MUCH longer, is a lot less close (than even passable work/speed shaves), and irritates comparatively with friction. Baby smooth DE shaves can even be done faster, once setup correctly. Not that I don't still use the "trimmer" part. Of course, you can choose to move the other direction, for some days and cut slightly less and comfort/safety for you (like a smaller gap Tech clone and less sharp blade for your beard type), for extreme speed, shaving twice a day or just for touch up passes, something like that, or for not having to think about it much at all, while doing it(half-asleep?), and also THE best for working around anything like moles(you just hop them, no big deal), than *any* other thing etc... We often forget it's completely up to you to build it to any shaving way, that you need, or many way/razors. Also who says you can't mix or match with having a beard or not, foil electric (like on ears), just for the summer or whatever? It's not set in stone; but you do want to have the skill and be setup, custom just for you. I guess a china razor $2.00 was the best sale, 89 cent Williams soap puck and 8 cent medium Dorco blade and free DIY brush (wife discarded, big makeup brush, or old paint brush regrouped, just to test?) would set you back all of $2.97. It's not about cost. Unless you mean the cash you are wasting now. It does change your face for the better. More, the closer you shave. So you probably have not seen that much change yet. Even if you've been shaving all your life. Little stuff, like always wearing a balm (lotion, and a good, inexpensive one with sane ingredients, because many suck) and BEFORE your face ever gets dry, really do matter. Many really good tips are found in DE shaving forums. Those are great by them self.

could not be more pleased with this blade. I want to stockpile these things in case they ever become unavailable (unlikely). It just feels nice having the sharpest blade in the world in stock for any time you may need it. I like to pop these into my milder DE razors like the Ikon shavecraft 101. Something about this sharp of a blade paired with a mild, smooth razor with little blade exposure makes the shave outstandingly smooth, effective, and comfortable. That pair is actually my best pairing for the best shave possible. No challenge at all to get a babysmooth shave. This blade is also nice because it takes some effort to dull it down. I go about 3-4 shaves each with the Feather, and even then I feel I am wasting a few shaves when I toss the blade and replace it. OH, and Feather has even thought that part through because each 5-pack has a disposal slot for your blades. So the whole package is self-contained and effortless to store and dispose. Agh I wish every blade would follow suit and use Feather's packaging.The only thing I dont love is that the blade is held in the paper with WAY too much adhesive. I dont like cleaning the sticky glue crap out of my razor heads. But at least it keeps the blade in place for sure haha. Anyway, as you have probably gathered, these blades are highly regarded as the sharpest out there. I would like to add they are also the best packaged and the best value for the money. Blades are already so cheap, especially if you have come from a past of buying cartridges before making the switch to traditional wet shaving. Don't be cheap on your blades! These are a steal (steel? lol). I would not recommend these for your more exposed razors, anything with a wide blade gap. It will still do the job, you will just have to be more slow and cautious not to add pressure or slice through a mole or blemish.. These will take those clean off your face before you can even feel what is happening. These blades are a must have for your den. I don't like having too much back stock of all sorts of blades, so I keep a mild, a medium, and an aggressive blade and that is it. These are my aggressive blades for life.

Feather's blades are absolutely amazing, and at a price that can't be beat. When I first bought a safety razor, I had heard that it could produce a closer shave, and for a cheaper price than a cartridge razor. While the blades that came with it weren't bad, when I received the first set of Feathers, it absolute blew my mind. These double edged blades are nothing short of wonderous: Pros: + They're really sharp, and give a close shave with an experienced hand + Since they are sharp, they don't cause irritation during a shave. + Two blades means a faster shave, and less rinsing. + As there is a blade on both sides, the longevity is great. I can frequently get up to two weeks out of each blade, if not a bit more, before it becomes too irritating under normal conditions. + They're super cheap. $10 for 30. We're talking 60 weeks of shaving for half the price of 20 weeks with cartridges. + The packaging helps keep you safe! Nothing like the little slot in the back of each set for used razors. Cons: - They're sharp.... well duh... they're razors... be careful. - You can not take them in a carry on, so expect to check luggage if you want your blades on a trip - With a lot of growth, the blade dulls faster, so shaving off your beard can take down a razor in less than two weeks. Aside from some inconveniences from a travel perspective, Feather Double Edged Razor Blades are almost perfect. With the price to value ratio, they're pretty much a no brainer.

I just had the best shave of my life, and I have been shaving for over 40 years. My switch to DE shaving began about two months prior to the writing of this review. My beard is tough and I have sensitive skin. After many years of being dissatisfied with my shaves, I stated to shave once or twice each week using a typical cartridge system. That seemed to work best for me, but of course I had significant beard growth on days two, three and four. That growth was ok, but if I needed to be clean shaven on those days the inevitable irritated skin made its appearance once again. These blades are said to be the sharpest available. In my experience, that seems to be true. I was hesitant to try them as I had been experiencing a few nicks and cuts with other name brand DE blades. Another reviewer suggested that technique played a large part in shave results, so after I was comfortable with my DE technique I gave these blades a try. No nicks, no cuts, no errors. These blades are flawless. I experienced absolutely no pull with these blades. The blade glides across the face. After one pass, I had a great shave. After two passes I had the best shave of my life. There was no reason to execute a third pass. The absence of that third pass probably added to my after shave skin comfort. When you are comfortable with your technique, you owe it to yourself to give Feather blades a try. Beards are different and pre-shave prep and technique are certainly important. But while your results may vary, I think most of you will be very happy with the shave you get with Feathers.

I have been using Merkurs for the last two years, and was interested in seeing what else was out there. Positive reviews led me to try the Feather. Many of the reviews make it seem like they are so sharp they should be illegal, and that it will take several weeks of blood and carnage until one masters them. I have not found this to be the case at all. They are sharp, but not insanely sharp. They seem to hold their edge longer than the Merkur, so I get three shaves out of it instead of the two I was used to with Merkur. By the end of the third go, it's done. So, it's more economical. The shave is nice, close and comfortable. I'll stick with these. Disclaimer: my whiskers are pretty think, so if you have thin/fine whiskers it may be too much. Also, you are steaming your face with a towel before you shave, and then using a pre-shave oil, shaving soap and a brush, right? Using a safety razor without these elements is like putting a Ferrari engine in a Prius.

Relatively new to wet shaving, my experiences with blade brands is, admittedly, limited. I have tried Rockwell blades (Swedish-made), Wilkinson’s Sword, and Kai, settling for awhile on the last brand—a high-quality, relatively stiff blade, manufactured in Seki, the traditional home of great swords and the best Japanese kitchen cutlery. While Kai blades are very good, the renowned Feather blades are decidedly even better...much better. From the moment you open the package, the quality is apparent. 10 fine blades are nestled in a very well-designed plastic sleeve which allows for convenient dispensing. Each blade, neatly wrapped in slick paper and secured with glue for good measure, proudly bears the Feather name and logo. So far, so good, and then you load the razor and shave. Wow! Coated with platinum, the first impression is that these blades are very, very sharp. While the Feather safety razor is noted for its mildness, in an aggressive razor wielded by a newbie, these blades could easily result in a morning bloodbath. Set at a level appropriate for the individual shaver, however, Feather blades promise to deliver an unmatched, exceptionally smooth shave. Of course, the premium samurai steel holds an edge like a champ, and you can cruise through a week of shaves, depending on your preferences. If you are looking for the best razor steel available with an unimaginably sharp edge, do yourself a favor and buy some Feather blades. Your face (or any other furry areas) will thank you.

As I sit here in amazement how baby face smooth my just shaved face feels, it's a good time to do a review. I just recently started shaving with the double edge razors, I have a nice Merkur razor and was given about 20 samples of blades where I purchased. Some are real good and some not so much but none felt just quite right. I checked out the reviews and figured I couldn't go wrong with Feather. I knew after the first couple shaves this is definitely the one I want. It's very sharp yet I feel very safe, have not nicked or cut myself yet, I get an incredibly smooth shave and I don't even have to really try. It's amazing if your looking for a nice smooth face. I must also add I don't use cheap shave cream, I've been using Taconic Creams pump (USA made) and also Taylor of Old Bond Street cream (England made). These are both amazing shave creams if you don't mind spending a few extra bucks, to me it's worth it to get a great comfortable shave. I also throw on a little Cool Fix when finished and some good mens moisturizer that's not greasy and I feel like a million bucks. I highly recommend these Feather blades. Take good care of yourself.

Great product!! They really are the sharpest thing you can buy. As such, they deserve your respect when using, as they will bite you if you get sloppy with them. Since they require attention, they give the best shave I have ever had, and I will never order a different brand. (I really have tried everything else, and nothing comes close. They really are senastive to the razor you use them with. After reading all the buzz about them,I was determined to see for myself. First try was withMicro touch 1.looked like I had just come out of a battlefield. Switched to a Mercur--same result. Stepped up to an Edwin Jagger---drained more blood. After reading ALL the reviews, some engineer put a micrometer on e and discoverd thatthe little bar in the center that center that holds and positions the blade was off centered, allowing one edge to be more exposed than the other, and therefore took a deeper bite out of my FACE. Not wanting to give up, I ordered e travel razor set from Feather fo about $20. Problem solved. Don't be fooled by the low price. This quality stuff for half the price.

The blade itself is a bit thicker than most other DE blades. The ends are not too long. That's a great design thought. Helps in getting the under nose hair without any side scraping. Blades are the sharpest of all that I have used so far. So pairing it with a mild+smooth razor like Muhle Neo/R89 will give the best results. I use this single blade for 4 shaves. I use all the others for 2 shaves (Gillete Black, Permasharp, Blue; Astra SP; Parker, Wilkinson Sword, Voskhod, Personna Platinum...) Highly Highly Recommended. But there is a learning curve.

I've tried a number of different double edge blades when I switched from multiple blade safety razor. These are by far the best blades - sharp and give on average 5-6 shaves per blade. No pulling or nicks or cuts. Plus price is good.
