Pickled Plum aka Umeboshi (Pack of 1)

Just the right salty/sour balance, moist, and versatile. Great in non-Japanese dishes too. The package is just enough for a spread for guests or a weekend of snacking.

These have the authentic flavor of umeboshi and shipped fast. I am trying many brands in the hopes of finding something that replicates the umeboshi I used to get in Hawai'i. These have come the closest so far. They are a touch mushy for my taste, but each plum held its shape. These are great for snacking slowly, and I have read that umeboshi are probiotic. My associate said they settled his digestive issues and I felt the same way, so I would buy them again for both the taste and the digestive effects.

The pickled plums were absolutely disgusting! It was slimy, couldn't be eaten and had to be trashed.

I grew up with this brand of Umeboshi and it was exactly as I expected. If you see a bad review I suspect that person doesn't know what Umeboshi is. We always used it with either a simple Musubi Nori or even on plain rice to add a fruity saltiness. The quality is good and the flavors are just like what I expect from the store bought bottles from Little Tokyo years ago. Any Japanese would recognize this immediately and I'm sure I'll order more!

Edit: I feel bad for my earlier review. I was about to throw the plums away, and decided to taste them out of curiosity. They don't taste sweet at all. They taste just like I expected, extremely sour and salty. I don't detect any artificial ingredients. I wonder if the manufacturer needs to take a look at the labels they're putting on these products.Original review: Bait and switch. The ingredients on the item received are totally different from what's pictured in the listing. Don't order unless you want high fructose syrup, sorbitol, etc in your plums. I ordered these bc of their health benefits, but the gross ingredients in what I actually received won't do you any good.
