Brown Family Farm Maple Syrup, Pure Vermont Grade A, Amber Color, Rich Taste, 32 Ounce

This is a moderately strong flavored, nicely sweet maple syrup that seems to be just right for my taste.The bottle is labeled Grade A Dark Amber. If you hover your mouse over the lower right hand corner of the image of the jug on Amazon, then the labeling can be clearly viewed. The jug (as pictured) is what I received.I also purchased and received a jug of Mansfield Fancy Grade at the same time. If you like very mild maple syrups, then the Mansfield one would go well with plain pancakes and waffles.I didn't have any plain ones in the house when these jugs of syrup arrived. But, I did have some Eggo Strawberry waffles in the freezer, so I decided to use the strawberry waffles and compare the syrups head to head.When using the Mansfield Fancy Grade syrup, the strawberry flavor of the waffles remained dominant, with very little maple flavor evident. The syrup made the waffles taste sweeter. That's the way it's supposed to be with the finest grades of maple syrups, so it does what it says on the tin (or plastic jug, as it were).I then tried the strawberry waffles with Brown Family Farm Grade A Dark Amber. The taste was 60% maple and 40% strawberry, and of course the syrup sweetened the waffles. Overall, I found this to be very pleasant and preferable.I like both products, but the Brown Family Grade A Dark Amber works well with foods that have a stronger flavor. And it isn't out of place on plainer foods either. So it is still my favorite.----------The cap: I really liked the small spout hole on the flip-open caps of the 8oz jugs that they used to sell. But, this larger 32oz jug has a very large diameter hole on the flip-open cap that makes it more likely to spill down the sides.Maple syrup is a fairly low viscosity product compared to corn syrup, so I would like to see them reduce the size of the hole in the cap to make it neater to pour.Even with the large diameter spout hole it is still manageable, but it takes a little extra care when pouring to keep it off the sides of jug.-

This is not the small batch first run syrup that was advertised. Would not buy again.

That taste is awesome, I enjoy this product.

Great Syrup I just about messed up I hit one star it definitely is not a one star But a 5***** Have already bought more. Anything natural is better for you. In My research VERMONT Maple Syrup is held to a different standard and much better for you.

This is a slightly darker maple syrup, and the flavor is fantastic! Seriously, once you've tried this stuff, you'll never want to go back to the artificially-flavored drek ("maple-flavored" syrup). Yes, it's more expensive, but the taste is worth it. I use it on pancakes and waffles, and brush a little on chunks of sweet potato before roasting them to bring out the sweetness and flavor. Excellent product, good price.
