Q: does your have to be very long to use these

I have shoulder-length, curly hair, and the heavy roller, despite wrapping well, had the unexpected effect of making my hair look straighter. I would say it needs to be wrapped more than once around. The roller is long.

Q: How big are the rollers?

There are two different sizes. The smaller (purple) rollers are about 3 inches long, and perhaps an inch in diameter. The large (pink) ones are about one inch longer.

Q: Would these work on really long hair?

They would work but if your hair is really long and thick you might need more than one set. I love them and they make really nice curls.

Q: do they leave lines in your hair from the clips?

No line from the clips, the clips don't hold the hair tight enough and the rods don't really stay hot. They will give you the Shirley Temple curl look but it too much work to get them to stay on the hair long enough.
